I have heard that SE will be coming with update version of android i.e 1.8 by october. How long will SE take to upgrade to the latest android. Every company is offering 2.1 as compared to SE. I m skipping this phone since the system is too old, and the update which is coming is also very old. Wake up SE!!!

The Android 1.6 Donut is the operating system, it is outdated thet are on 2.2 already but the update is coming soon for all the Xperias, I have the X10 mini pro and the OS is still pretty good...Fast too

m, 12 Oct 2010hello krishh, in my connection gprs is activated i,e. ai... moremake a new internet profile and set the APN name- airtelgprs.com. thats it. no need to set a proxy address, port, even u can left the homepage blank. but set it to www.google.com for easy access. hope ur phone will access the net soon. i use airtel 98 gprs pack(2GB anytime).

How the battery is? If i use this phone
*) 10minutes for calling
*) and 20-40min music
*) same play same game ~20minutes
*) 20min in wifi

For anyone unsure about this phone, or if you have never owned an SE phone, and care about updates, I recommend you skip this phone. I've been left behind with the X1, X2, X10, because SE don't update them. It's a great phone in most respects, just not in software.

Still using the same old ARMv6 instruction set on the same old ARMv11 CPU core. It would hinder alot of new apps

sunligh legibility is good not great but good.
i have been using it since 7 am:
1-screen mostly on because i was discovering android.
2-about 3-4 hours of music listening via bluetooth headset.
3-bluetooth always on.
5-surfing the net for about 1h.
6-played jewels for about 1h.
7-made about 6-10 calls.
8- played speedforge for 30 minutes .
9-received about 50 emails.
now its 8 pm and battery has 35% remaining
this should give you an idea of what to expect.

the panels will get loose in sides if u frequently change, so be careful while changing them.

SE Xpreria X8 is a great machine for its price!Pros- a very handy phone with a bouquet of features from HSPA to WiFi. the touch screen is lighning fast.Speaker phone is loud and clear, camera interface is quick responding and picture quality is good for normal use(who is gonna be a professional with a mobile phone?. pull e-mail(gmail i use), gtalk, and browser are fine(even without flash support), youtube client is working well too.value for money than X10 minis and samsung droids
Cons-Sunlight legibility is somwwhat poor, Android OS is to be upgraded.Yahoo messenger supports only android2 or later! thats a big minus point with X8!
My marks for X8 = 8/10 (it will be 9/10 when it comes out with OS V2.1+)

Settings>wireless network settings>Data Accounts>
Enable these settings. If still you face any issues, please call SE CRM Team and airtel team.

in my connection gprs is activated i,e. airtel live and i have not subscribed to any data plan and i think the charges will apply depending on my usage. but still i am not able to get the settings, when i sms MO to 54321 which is given by airtel support i get the message that the service settings are still not available for your phone, should i wait for the settings from airtel or idont know what to do, please help
