This is very good low cost middle range android phone.
Camera is quite good even without having zooming(3.15 megapixel).
Sony doesn't provide OS upgrades beyond 2.1 (Eclair), but I have rooted and install GingerCruzt (2.3.7) which runs very smoothly. Every function works perfectly.
Battery lasts for 2day with heavy usage, talking time near to 2 hours, browsing through wi-fi, gaming etc. Since my device has synaptic touchscreen I could enable dual touch.Now my phone is capable of handling dual touch.(To enable dual touch phone should be rooted and relevant modules should be executed using terminal emulator)
I have used this phone for more than 6 months and I have pretty much satisfied. According to my point of view I think this is very good phone.

camera quality was quite good, even the system can't upgrade from 2.1...

sharan, 19 Jun 2012actually my sony ericsion model u20i ,language is changed i... morefirst go to settings via menu. then go to language and key board (the thumbnail is like capital A), there select first option then select the language u desire :p , enjoy!!!!!

emi, 22 Jun 2012i want 2 buy dis fon,id lyk 2 know its camera quality n int... moreit comes with two extra back panels, purple/black and silver/black for black xperia peice and rest panels as mentioned in above specs for white xperia x8, yes the net speed is quite good im using it , i luv dis phone but u neeed to have a good cellular operator okay all da best

vannie, 08 Jun 2012my gripe with the fone is that whenever i download movies o... moreyou must have some sort of video convertor on your computer so the video you want to play on phone just convert in the right form (flv,mp4.mp3.)and transfer it to your phone.i hope it helped.

anne, 14 Jun 2012can this be upgraded to latest android os version?Official update is not possible beyond 2.1, rather, you can do it unofficially till 2.3.
Rooting, Xrecory backup, and installing CM7 shall help.

hi i have a problem withmy xperia x8 every time i turn the phone on it reads (home screen process com.sonyericsson.homescreen) has stopped unexpectedly. no matter what i do it repeats message every time i click force close. i cant click on anything because of this.???? help????

Bought this phone like last year had no troubles with it the OS on the phone is pretty poor as it is running Android eclair which is pretty s*** lol, but due to me reading tutorials and everything i've been able to install ICS and Gingerbread custom roms onto this device and it works wonders :) but tbh it's not worth more than £80 just saying go for something else.
