Just got this phone a week ago. the body is metal look. It sounds quality is not too loud, but the buzzer produce solid sound. Display is the same as K750i& W800i, but this phone brightness is 50% up compared with K750i. In it's package, I got earphone(the same model with K750i), Li-Polymer battery, and standard charger. One of the weakness is the camera. It produce poor quality picture in low lighting area(Even you adjust "With ballance" up to 2.0). it works the same with the video quality. while NOKIA & other competitor tried to improved their Video Quality(MP4, 30 fps, VGA size), Sony still retain with this primitive style(176 X 144 , 3gpp). What's wrong Sony?
Overall, this phone is reasonable to buy coz the feature & price is equal. the last, z550 case is verryyyyy coool man.....

@Mikkan
Well, I'm not an expert on wb browsing on phones, but XHTML and HTMl are pretty much the same, just a lot of techincal stuff really. There really isn't much of a difference between the two, but the Z550's web browser is better in my opinion. This and the much better screen contribute to this.

@soorena
Mine takes around 24 seconds to boot up, and 5 seconds to shut down.
@trysri
It cannot record radio, but it has RDS. And it support USB charging.
Also, the vibration is quite strong and the battery is pretty good. Not as bad as what some people say.

Very nice phone. Had it for a few days now. Much nicer in real life, so if you are a bit off put by the looks, go see it in real life.
Keypad is easy to use. It's flat but the keys are nicely separated so there should be no problems. Backlighting is very even as well. It's a nice blue colour.
You do get fingerprints round the screen and where the camera is, but no biggy.
Software is working great. No bugs or restarts. The menu doesn't lag at all and the animation is smooth and enjoyable. The thees are nice and varied as well.
External screen is very nice. Clear and looks cool as well. A lot of information for such a small screen. Internal screen is very good as well. And you can see it well in full sunlight.
Reception is a bit patchy (2 bars) if you put your finger over where the antenna, only if you are in an area with weaker reception though. Maybe I'm used to the reception in the old Nokias [which were indestructible those were the days)]. Otherwise it's above average.
A lot of extras as well. Facewarp is quite fun. Music, Video and PhotoDJ are all at your disposal as well. Bluetooth works fine.
You can also minimize apps (games, radio, music player etc.) with the activity button as well.
Radio is loud and clear and so is the music player. NOTE: You cannot use the radio instantly without the headphones plugged, just like any other phone radio. The phones uses the wires of the headphones as the arial, that's why. But once you've got the headphones plugged in, you can set it to play through the speaker, so no worries. And the speaker can get quite loud as well.
Camera is decent. What you'd expect from a mobile I guess.
Ringtones can be loud, it just depends on what tone you set it. Some mp3 files themselves are a bit softer so that's why there's a smaller sound I think.
Very good phone for the price. Nothing I can complain about apart from the lack of an included USB cable or memory card, but at the price I paid for it, you wouldn't expect any extras apart from the phone. No other manufacturer would give one to you at this price! I'm very happy with the included headphones which was quite generous to use with the radio.
If there's any questions, just ask me :)

To Z550 owners...the 1.3Mp camera on Z550 is bad in low lighting areas just like Nokia 6280. but during day time, the more colour the better, Z550 capture original colours unlike Nokia 6630/3230 both 1.3Mp camera seem to add purple on blue color objects.

Hey all! Just bought this phone last weekend, and now I have both W800i (been using it for 1 year) and Z550i, and here's the comparison:
Hate:
- Z550i only has 1.3Mp Cam and W800i has 2.0Mp cam with Autofocus and flash.
- Z550i cannot zoom in/out pictures in picture gallery - so you can't see picture in details once you take a photo.
- Z550i has smaller battery - a lot less talking/stand-by hours than W800i which not suitable for music player, camera and games heavy users.
- Z550i's speaker not as loud as W800i.
- Z550i does not comes with 'in-ear' earphone but comes with standard earphone, no memory card - W800i comes with 512MB and no DKU (USB) cable.
- Z550i doesn't have infrared port.
- Z550i uses Memory Stick Micro M2 with max capacity only 1GB, W800i uses Memory Stick Duo with max capacity 2GB.
- Even phone has similar Music player, W800i has one-touch button for Walkman, with Z550i, you need to access to Music player via Menu and no physical 'Play/Stop' button on the phone which hard to control the player when the 'clamshell' is not opened.
Love:
- Z550i a lot cheaper than W800i! Z550i costs AUD$210 unlocked and W800i costs double which is around AUD$400-$500. For this price, you can enjoy most of W800i functions.
- Z550i physically smaller and more stylish then W800i.
- Z550i has 4 camera shutter sound's options.
- Both phones have same O/S. I can use W800i 'Themes' on Z550i too!
- Z550i has a nice front bright OLED screen which displays a lot of information, it also shows Song title when you have the music on.
- Z550i has similar or 'same with different design' music player to W800i's Walkman player.
- Z550i text message Inbox shows 'reply icon' next to the message/s once you replied to the message, which not shown on W800i.
- Z550i has bigger, sharper and brighter screen than W800i.
In overall, I love both phones. But would prefer Z550i for day-to-day use as its look stylish and compact and would use W800i for a long trip, where you need more battery life and longer music.
Cheers....
