Sony, LG and Samsung get so much attention because they are leaders in any other field (music, cameras, tv). Sony is one of the giants and deserves all the attention. Foolish globalization of buying Huawei, iPhone and I know what Chinese only promotes numbers is too big for Sony to revolutionize somewhat on the market or any other good phone maker in practice, not on the sheet. It's irrelevant to say if you did not have a top Sony and say some ungrounded and subjective things. Quality, not quantity, and Sony are still pioneers in this.

Sony should make only flagship phone that can compete with Apple, Samsung flagship and avoid making any budget phones.

i dont know why Sony goes for selective market approach for its smartphones. Samsung, Huawei etc launch their products almost everywhere. I think we can purchase a Huawei phone even in the Bermuda Triangle, whereas I am suffering as a Sony fan here in UAE.

[deleted post]The reality is that in the current smartphone market everyone is struggling. Apple is making less revenue, Samsung is losing market share, HTC is almost dead, Sony Mobile does not exist anymore, LG is struggling to sell phones, and so on.
The only phone brands doing well right now are Chinese brands like Huawei, probably because they are co-sponsored by the Chinese government. However Huawei is unfortunately not even allowed to sell phones in big markets like the USA.
Smartphone market is saturated right now. There is no reason to hate on Sony. I personally believe the Xperia 1 is the best smartphone right now so I am very interested in it. Everything else does not really matter.

Sony sales have been declining for years, due to excessive faults and design flaws. Thats the real reason. Why promote something that people don't like or want

Jdi is now become Cdi. Jdi ask for china's help and china give it.
Sonymobile can do the same if they want..

It looks like a man hospitalized in icu with so many life support equipments. If you remove one of those equipments, he would die in few seconds.

Even here in the U.S. they closed like ALL (or 99%) of their Sony Stores. It's like they stopped believing in themselves, or just got too complacent. Like they maybe think they don't need to try anymore? I dunno. Makes NO sense to me. If I was the CEO, you bet your A$$ EVERYONE here would know what a Sony Xperia phone is, and want one too! You gotta compete, but they don't. It's not like they're a no-name company.........they're SONY!!! Everyone knows the name, so capitalize on it! Advertise, sell through carriers, give good promotions when u sell phones here (they kinda started doing that with the XZ2 Premium and XZ3 last year, but they weren't AS good Samsung's, etc.). MAKE your presence KNOWN!!!!!
Sony Mobile's CEO said recently that he considers Xperia to be a "niche" product that will never be like Samsung, Apple, etc. But who says it has to be so limited? People love great features and nice phones, so don't hold back! Give them another option!! Bring BACK the Sony stores so people feel a connection to your products like they do with Apple and Samsung, Microsoft, etc etc. LISTEN to customers.........give them value! They have been doing this recently, but that's more with the product, not improvements all around. Like when the Xperia 1 comes out, it SHOULD be available through T-Mobile here, if not others like AT&T and Verizon. It SHOULD get some TV advertising like how all the new Samsung and LG phones do, if not other media outlets, etc. Don't make it a big secret, LET THE PEOPLE KNOW so they realize what they're missing out on if they DON'T buy it!

No one care about sony outside of gsma. Other professional sites dont even write any news about it, some sites even dare to criticize it badly. You see phone arena's youtube video?
Gsma give sony too much attention already. They shouldn't do that because sony is just a small inferior brand.
Samsng, chinese brands, and even apple deserve more attention because most people in the world use it.
I suggest gsma to stop writing any news about sony. And delete this sony's section entirely.
