Launch earlier, but release very late onto the market...bad strategy Sony. This phone have been overshadowed by the already on sale P30 Pro with camera goodies greatness.
Still eagerly waiting on what Xperia 1 has got to offer, especially its new camera setup & new algorithm by Alpha team.

But last year they did the same thing be... moreFrom what I've known, Sony always release 2 flagship phones in a year with an exception Premium & Compact version once every year. XZ2P was the direct successor of last year XZ Premium not the XZ2, while the XZ3 was the successor of XZ2. This year X1 obviously the successor of XZ2P not the XZ3.
This year the pattern seems odd, they don't have compact & regular flagship, dunno if they plan to purge those line up and stick to the best of the best specs they can offer. Better wait IFA and see what's the next to offer.

Henrea, 31 Mar 2019Forget everything about rumor xperia 2 you've read, as lon... moreI guess we'll see. But last year they did the same thing between the XZ2 Premium and the XZ3. NOT with the screen but with the camera. The XZ2 Premium had an AMAZING "combo camera" setup where one lens did color and the other was monochrome that worked with the first lens to grab more light. Incredible! But then they release the XZ3 with the better screen but its SINGLE-LENS camera was like 2 notches behind the XZ2 P's. So I dunno man. lol
Yeah but in between the XZ2 and the XZ3 was the XZ2 Premium. Trust me, I GOT the XZ3 but returned it 2 weeks later primarily b/c of the camera. I saw on XDA camera comparison pics of the XZ2 P & XZ3, and the XZ3 didn't hold a candle to the former. In daylight outdoor pics the XZ3 was great, but in all other cases it suffered, in some cases really badly.
Well hopefully I'm wrong about the Xperia 2. We shall see. It DOES seem odd to go backwards, but given that Sony only seems to release ONE 4K device a year, I definitely have my doubts. But again, we'll see. lol

The phones have been diving for a few years. The rest of sony products are making great profits which means they are selling the products. They make incredible cameras, televisions, sounds systems, headphones, and the list goes on. your opinion is worthless. people look at profits that are released, not some troll that knows nothing.
