Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023Thinking of ordering one stateside, T-Mobile. My last Xperi... moreThis is the most stupid thing that Network Providers are doing nowadays! Instead of making all phones work aslong as it has the Bands to connect, they are actually Whitelist or Blacklist a select of phones to work or connect to them! People should wake up & complain about this! It's literally forcing you to buy specific phones that paid them to only work for them!

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023Thinking of ordering one stateside, T-Mobile. My last Xperi... moreOr you can buy an external sim adapter if you want 2 sim & sdcard but it will dangle outside the phone, so best you buy a case for it.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023Thinking of ordering one stateside, T-Mobile. My last Xperi... moreBetter ask you Network provider about them supporting this model as nowadays they do some whitelisting/blacklisting of phones for features to work specially if they are not on contract.
I don't think this model have e-sim support besides the Japanese variant but only dual-sim which is hybrid, so you either choose 2 sim or 1 sim & sdcard whose max should be upto 1TB.

Thinking of ordering one stateside, T-Mobile. My last Xperia, the XZ1 Compact kept receiving alerts that it didn't support voLTE. Some calls ended up going straight to voicemail even though the phone is on.
Might be a stupid question but Does this model support voLTE? What about eSIM? Also what's the max size microSD supported?

MartinLondonUK1977, 27 Mar 2023The latest update, 62.2.A.0.428 has been released, weighing... moreI also just received this update 62.2.A.0.428 today. I didn't get any updates since 62.1.A.0.675. Google Play updates to March 1, 2023 as well.
Phone UI seems more fast in general
Screen colours are brighter & sharper
There's is a new Safety app for emergencies.
I can finally turn on Wi-Fi when my screen is still locked without having to unlock it first
The pulldown menu shows me Active apps now
The clock on the lock screen has moved to the top now
So far so good. No negatives I can see at the moment

The latest update, 62.2.A.0.428 has been released, weighing in at 320MB.
It brings the patch date for both Android and Google Play to 1st March.
Sadly this does not cover to 5th March as referenced by my post immediately below, as that would mean the two critical CVEs would be fixed.
They should be fixed in the next update.

No sooner than the release of the Android 13 update, we now need to look out for the next update hopefully including the March update.
Some critical CVEs have been patched that would have enabled remote code execution without user interaction... This affects Android 11, 12 and 13.

My update finally arrived - a week late! It seems very responsive with no lagging.
The changes I have noticed so far are the lock screen and a new 'safety' app for entering emergency contact, medical info etc.
However it seems to be separate to the same functionality accessed from the lock screen itself, as you can put different answers in
The carrier name (mine is EE, UK as per my earlier comment) is only shown on the lock screen and not the home screen and the lock screen clock is higher up.
There does not seem to be a way to move it back to the centre - will take some getting used to I suppose.
