Exceedingly expensive for a mildly unusable brick, the phone is much too heavy and unwieldy, the plastic outershell got ruined even if treated with care, despite the good battery and decent hardware it clogs and lag often and barely survive at most 2 days of light usage. I wanted a phone to get out of the Google hell and yet I found myself with the entirety of the google suite; not even having your proprietary directory app in a 300 bucks phone is unacceptable.
Stay away.

The bug is known - fingerprint unlucking causes this issue. The suggestion is to delete all stored fingerpints - and capture new ones - then it solves this issue. Believe it or not - it did solve it for me. Unfortunately I don't know why Sony wouldn't address this through software support and update... Fixing this - makes this phone at least decent (not considering the prince point).

Daylight photo quality
As mentioned, the main camera on the Xperia 10 V captures 12MP stills. The quality of these stills is decent, but nothing to phone home about. Detail is good, and we appreciate the natural rendition of details. Colors appear nice and natural, though a bit muted. Dynamic range is generally good, but we've seen better.

The phone has a super annoying bug when trying to unlock the screen. Sometimes after trying to unlock it it ends up in some buggy state where you seem to see the unlocked screen with launcher but it's obstructed with the lock screen. In this state you can't really do anything (none of the icons on the launcher icons work). You have to lock the phone and unlock it again. Even then I sometimes have to do that more than once to work around the problem.
Super annoying and they haven't fixed that for months now (got at least 2 firmware updates in that period)!

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2024Lift some weights, no offense..a) you say something offensive then say „no offense“ that’s not how it works it’s still offensive
b) you can’t train your wrists. That’s why even people lifting a lot can still get carpal tunnel.

Regret not buying one now.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2024Lift some weights, no offense..The problem is not strength to hold the phone, is that for instance a heavier phone (as almost all of them now are) naturally produces heavier falls, which will probably damage the phone more (e. g. think about the screen). Also, personally I think a lighter phone is much nicer to handle.

Hope that this years phone will get a better chip and have a 120hz screen. A better chip should allow for 2k and 4k video also.

Does anyone know if the USB-C data/charging connector of XPERIA 10 V is hard (=directly) soldered to the motherboard? Or is there a cable connection between the connector and the motherboard as SONY does it with its DAPs to prevent damage of the MB through the connector in case of a hit on the connector?

Respect for releasing the lightest good available phone of 2023.

And even then it has outstanding battery life. The only downside to that is the plastic construction, but today‘s phones are so heavy that I don’t mind it on a non-flagship if it leads to a lightweight device like in this case. But the battery life is so good that I guess they could even go down to 4500 mAh for 10 VI and get the weight below 150 grams while still offering great battery life.
