AnonD-1061076, 27 Jun 2023What's your "fine"? I still own this phone (... moreMy A5 2017 is just fine. Clean flash with custom ROM and get a new battery and you're all good for easier tasks. 3 GB RAM is ofc not really sufficient in 2023, but that aside I am having no problems at all.

Got it recently and completely satisfied. Compact and long lasting - fully enough for my tasks.

Afcourse this is not the fastest phone but its pretty snappy for a sd 695 phone.
That unlock problem i never had.

If they would copy the Xperia XZ1 Compact dimensions with newer hardware and up to date Android it would be a self selling thing.

This phone is trash, don't buy it. It is lagging so much it's almost unusable, it's lagging more than my 2018 phone that I still use. The phone is not even responsive enough to lock and unlock correctly, it takes a few seconds to lock after pressing the button. Same for the android menu control buttons and the "side sense", they take a few seconds to appear after unlocking the phone. I was expecting the phone to be slow but I bought it because it's small and I'm still shocked how slow/laggy it is. It's a pain to use this phone, I am very disappointed. At least now I know that if I'm looking for a small phone I will buy a Zenfone and not this garbage.

Why would 695 lag though? Is it being throttled in order to increase battery life?

It seems like a decent compromise of size and performance with nowadays availability.
My main issue is the laggy locking/unlocking. Its insane how frustrating it can be if you unlock the phone a bit "too hard" pressing the button, resulting in it unlocking for 2 sec and then locking itself again. And in general its just unresponsive for a bit after unlocking.. very annoying.
Also comes with a load of Facebook/google bloatware like any phone nowadays, but at least that can be removed with ADB
Considering just going for the Zenfone 10 instead..

Hi Sony Ceo, Its a kind request, please start making compact size models with at least 888 fast processor or gen 1 & 2 but should be compact size less than 150mm tall, if samsung can make a compact size with fast processor (S23) why you can't? Anything possible for u, remember my advice key of success Hope u listen 👂
