I like Xperia's, because they are all aesthetically beautiful, whether expensive or inexpensive.
The Japanese don't make ugly asymmetrical display edges on the cheaper models, and that's why I respect Japanese designers.

I won't lie that looks can also make a point for me, but in the end it isn't a deciding factor. Having said that, both the A40 and the 10VI are quite interesting (in different angles) regarding the features I care most about. My A40 has gone through some harsh times in my hands, and has always survived till today. It's a great phone, a rare compact entry-level/midranger that still amazes me. It has almost every feature I want & need on a phone. And for instance, 5 years later, the battery is still like brand new.

I was really excited about the Sony Xperia 10 VI and got it just today. I excitedly booted it up, only to immediately get dizzy while looking at the screen. I think that the problem is the color shift which is really extreme. It is even visible for me without moving the phone and when I move it, it shimmers in all colors of the rainbow. I will have to send it back with a heavy heart :( Will probably buy the Google Pixel 8 now, but no SD-slot, no headphone jack, bad battery life, ... I am crying about the current phone market.

You can see that most of modern Motorola, vivo, oppo and one plus are having similar if not the same design. That's is because they're a made in the same manufacturing facilities.
At least sony is making an effort to design their phones.
Design is not outdated even if it is, it's still good.

It probably cost sony to buy this for 100 euro and they are selling it to boobs like you for 400 euro. If your familiar with the history of the company you would know this. They do that with everything tv's, phones ,cameras etc. If you want a real Sony product you have to buy their 1000 euro phone which is so outdated it's laughable 🤣

Really hope the 10 VII gets rid of the bezels on the sides (not the ones with the camera and speakers, I love those!!). It makes the display feel smaller when viewing content with black around the edges and it's really annoying for me.

blacknail, 18 Jun 2024If it wasn't for the 10 VI, I was also considering to ... moreI forgot to add that although the G84 seems a great deal, its chipset is beyond 10 VI's (who finally upgraded to a fastest one), and the benchmarks section on the specs pages seem to reflect that. So if you found the 10 VI slow, I wonder how the G84 feels like (despite the more generous RAM / ROM numbers).
