ProG4merPlus, 18 May 2024Is it me or Xperia 10 series are the worst midrange phones ... moreYeah, and the battery.

Battery life on Xperia's 1 and 10 VI are among the best in class if not THE best.

In case of 10 VI that's pretty much all you get better then what others have, oh and no-punch hole screen and SD memory card slot too. Everything else is below average and in Sony fashion, too expensive.

I mean... I have Xperia 1 V and when I compare it with the newer Xperia 1 VI, I can't escape the feeling that phone is being way too overpriced for what is offering, but at least you can feel you're getting something with that price as it has some special things noone else have. But this one? Their mid-rangers are really hard to buy. You really have to be a HC Sony fan.

With Galaxy A34 level of specs and pricing of a Galaxy A55 this phone will have a hard time. Not to mention all those Chinese alternatives with miles better specs.

My only question is ... Why 60Hz display? For the 6th time in a row with only 60Hz. Why?

More then 60Hz is a standard in Android world.

Even the cheapest and most entry level phones are having at least 90Hz refresh rate.

Sony.. you're so stubborn. Wake up!

Just realized that the ultrawide cam sensor is the same size as the selfie's, which is already a pretty small 1/4.0" 💀🤣

ProG4merPlus, 18 May 2024Is it me or Xperia 10 series are the worst midrange phones ... more10 III had a killer battery life tho

I rarely change phones, but this is a special one for sure, personally for good reasons: somewhat compact, light, 5G, IP68, meets minimum memory requirements (8GB / 128GB), microSD card slot, 3.5mm jack, stereo speakers, great battery life... only if it had FM radio, a little smaller and cheaper, it would be perfect for me, but then again, with current market oversaturated with similar phones, it's very hard to find a decent compact phone... using Phone Finder, with all these features and from 2024, only 10 VI and Sharp Sharp Aquos sense8 (only Android 13 and no stereo speakers, though...), but the Sharp seems impossible to get outside of Japan.

Probably the first phone I'll buy after 5 years with my Samsung A40, it's very promising.

I hope somebody from sony reads this.
Explain to me why would i give 400e for low-mid range phone with 60hz when i can get galaxy s23 for 500e? is there any reason at all?

Is it me or Xperia 10 series are the worst midrange phones 🤷‍♂️
I mean I can't find a single area where this phone is good for it price well except the IP68

I do not own this phone but could buy it in the future. Looking at the spec sheet, it seems to be comparable to the samsung galaxy a54 that i used to own, and that seemed ok to me, as a light user that doesnt play games on phones. 60hz screen or 90hz or 120hz dont matter much if you mainly use google made apps most of the time.

Compared to the previous generation, this phone has downgraded in the camera system, because it has removed the telephoto lens. Also, the screen is still 60 Hz and does not even have a 90 Hz screen.

I truly love this midrange phone from Sony, it does so many things right, but with the implementation of the 6 Gen 1 platform it would have been nice to get a 90hz screen upgrade along with it in the phone.

FYI: Pixel has 7 years of support now.

But it will get 3 new Android versions +1 security patches like Xperia 1 VI, or last year Pixel generation minus 1 year of security, which is in my opinion good enough I guess.

                            What do you think?
                            Cheers.

Looks a lot better than the last one at least. OK chipset too, hope the price reflects that.

Benchmark scores already available on the 10 VI's specs page here @ GSMArena, no expert here but the scores seem quite reasonable, and a big upgrade over 10 V's.

Sony phones look beautiful without notch or punch hole, but stock Android is butt ugly. I prfer the ROMs of Meizu, Xiaomi and Huawei, they are more beautiful.

It's a great phone besides sd 6 gen 1 processor. Has everything you need (microsd + headphone jack) and is compact. Despite the under powered processor, I think this phone will definitely get some sales in its market either way for the things I mentioned above
