Sony Xperia 1 arrives in China, sells out in Europe

Yordan, 07 June 2019

Sony finally brought the Xperia 1 to multiple markets in Europe last week with a launch in the United States scheduled to follow on July 12. Meanwhile the company has started the pre-order campaign for its flagship in China. The device is priced at CNY6,299, which translates to €808, or about 15% less than the EU price tag of €949.

The phone can be purchased on the Chinese online retailer JD.com, although it is listed only in Black - we are yet to see if other colors will be available in China. It is the very same Snapdragon 855-powered device with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, three cameras on the back and an ultra-tall 21:9 CinemaWide display with 4K resolution.

And while the Xperia 1 still hasn't reached all markets, it is already out of stock in the United Kingdom and Germany. British users could choose between Black and Purple units and get WH-1000XM3 headphones for free, but now the offer is unavailable due to lack of units.

The German e-store offers the Xperia 1 in both colors, but with no headphones. However, if you want the Grey or White option, you’re out of luck - they are also depleted.
