Good is all we need.
Its a smartphone screen. Why does it have to be perfect?
Also, according to the link you provided. The Xperia 1 display is manufactured by Samsung display co. S10 also uses Samsung display, They both use the same active matrix tech. They are just a little different in their own ways. They are both good screens and that's all that matters, Screens are always a lottery, they are all slightly different. The sample size is also too small.

Having the perfect display only matters when you are spending over $500 (or even a thousand for professionals) on a computer monitor. But then, there are no OLED monitors besides that one from Asus.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2020Here's Xda giving your Xperia display a solid B+ while s10 ... moreH, have you read the article or just looked at the scores? This is actually a poor article, they deduct big points for small calibration errors (which have been fixed by software) and forget to add points for hardware. Which even they say is excellent. They complain that the 4k only works on certain applications. Surely if something works the same as every other phone 75% of the time but the other 25% is better. It shouldn't get complaints

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2020Because who buys this wants 4K. Would you buy a 4K tv to ... moreWhy are you comparing watching 720p video on 4k TV to a smartphone?
720p still will look good on small 6 inch 3k/4k screen not so much on a 50inch 4k TV

Selectively picking Samsung phones which give worst battery life as far as high refresh rate is concerned. Why not mention Redmi K30, ROG 2 and others?

Nobody uses 120hz during videos unless you use Xreality engine like on Oppo which can be easily turned off. Besides, most of these phones let the AI dynamically adjust refresh rate according to content (not on S20 series out of the box but others manufacturers have this mode inbuilt)

Besides, the whole point is about options.
One can easily switch to outdated 60hz on 120hz refresh rate phones if they want to.
Why Rob users opportunitiy of higher refresh rate?
Sony could've easily given higher refresh rate at 3k,2k, FHD and kept it locked to 60hz @4k. Nobody likes being locked down of choices like IPhone.

Huge difference between Oled on TVs and smartphones.
Burn ins happen on cheaply made Oled.
Been Using Samsung phones for years, never had problems with burn in.

I'll rather trust displayMate than some random brand boy on the Internet who has no clue about mobile Oled displays.

A guy on youtube that reviews TV is expert on display calibration.
                    He says:

                    1: delta avg 0.78 , delta max 1,55 ..... Custom (66 red, 39 green, 0 blue)
Note 10+ : delta avg 1.98 , delta max 3,34 Natural mode (most accurate it has)

So you want a screen with more than 6 million pixels to push to be as bright as screens with 4,5 or less. I supposed you knew that brightness is harder to push as pixel density increases.

I also suppose you know that as you increase brightness, the burn-in comes sooner. I can use my old LCD phone at 790 nits all the time , nothing will happen.
Do it with an oled screen, I dont give you 2 weeks for burn-in.

There is no oled tv with 1000, 1500 or 10000 nots like LED ones. What a coincidence.

Go read any article about xperia pro. Photographers exicited to use it as screen since cameras do not even have a 720p LCD. Never heard pf one that uses Galaxy or iphone for it.

Displaymate has so much credibility. Never pointed out the issues galaxy have to display white, green and gray without yellowish hues or reds without orange hue.
How can the famous London Bus become orange on galaxy screen?

Would you buy a 4K tv to watch just 720p content?

                          Look at the tests:

                          1) Find X2 Pro loses: almost 3h of web browsing and about 2:30h of standby

                          2) S20 loses : 2:52h video playback, 1:05h web browsing, near 3h standby

                          3) s20+ loses : 2:05h web browsing, 3:39h video playback , about 6:20h standby

                          4) s20 ultra loses: 1:36h web browsing, 3:42h video playback, about 4:42h standby

Weird to me the fact that in 2016, 2017 and 2018 none felt bothered by using phones with 60, now same ppl do. None cared about Razer and Sharp phones years ago offering this.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2020i honestly don't understand why people need higher ram capa... moreI used to have 32gb of ram in my PC
                                now I have 16gb with a i7 9700K
More ram did not improve computation speed(it helped a tiny bit when video editing), But it it supposedly gave me more potential to store more data in the ram.
Guess what, most of the time, even when gaming, the ram usage was always less than 10gb usage(maybe up to 14gb if I had other programs open). Only time I ever used alot of ram was either, 1. dedicating ram for virtual machine (gave a machine 16GB) 2. rendering videos using CPU 3. dedicating ram for a RAM DISK .

In ARM based system, too much ram doesn't really do anything, I think its just a waste of money.
It would be better to use quality RAM than more RAM

8gb RAM with low cas latency and higher clock speed is better than 12gb RAM with lower clock speed

Qualcomm 865 supports 2 different variants of DDR memory controllers
                                1. LPDDR4X @ 2133MHz
                                2. LPDDR5 @ 2750MHz

I checked Samsung, S20 uses LPDDR5. I would only find the 12Gb useful if the S20 is put in docked mode. Maybe it might help if you have a bunch of apps running and you shoot 8k video. Other than that, its still a bit too much ram IMO.

I also wish docked mode was available for all phones. I've been able to enable it on my Xperia 1 thru developers option (connecting display, mouse, and keyboard) But I wish its more desktop like, than looking like a tablet.

Does anyone happen to know the ram specs for Xperia 1II? besides it being 8gb
