Smithravi, 23 Apr 2020Just copy pasting my own comment so that it won't get lost ... moreWhy do you make up lies? It doesn't have 4k display and screen doesn't have 90/120 Hz refresh rate like you say but it does have small battery and only 8gig of ram.

... more20FPS wont work if shutter is slower than 1/600.
You cant use 1/600 at night, too fast.
You need about 1/4s - 1s.

- 4K HDR 10bit Display (Only mobile to cover BT.2020 gamout)
- 4K HDR recording at 60fps & 2K HDR recording at 120fps
- God tier 20 fps AF/AE with Eye AF (even in low lights)
- Legendary Zeiss lens
- Largest physical sensor by any smartphone for main camera
- Photo pro & Cinema Pro
- 21:9 aspect Ratio unlike typical 20:9 (no Need of zoom in and zoom outs for atleast 21:9 content)
- Sexy design without ugly notches and punchholes (+ fits good in one hand). Probably Lightest & slimmest flagship this year 2020
- Fast processor unlike lousy exynos or mediatek with 5G sub6 included
- Dual front end facing Speakers (immersive effect)
- 360 degree audio function + Dolby Atmos tuned by Sony pictures/Music
- Wireless charging
- Headphones jack (no audio losses like in BT and probably will be the only flagship with 3.5 mm in 2020 )
- Motionblur reduction (90Hz equivalent & 120Hz touch sensing)
- MicroSD Expansion upto 1TB (Now a days it is a big deal to have this)
- IP65/68 Rating (Only mobile to include two ratings)
- Camera shutter button
- Power button as fingerprint scanner
- UFS 3.0
- 8GB RAM/ 256GB ROM
- 4000mAh
Honestly what other flagship company is providing these features for 1100-1200$?? Not saying it is cheap but considering the Prices of S20 Ultra or IPhone Pro Max. It is still cheap packed with lot of Features. Premium design and weight added.
PS: Last year 6GB Xperia and 4GB iPhone performed onpar with 12GB ram samsung and OnePlus in speed test. This also proves how crap Samsung and OP ram management is. Anything over 8GB ram is nonsense (even with 3 chrome tabs open) today. Over 12GB is stupidity and where Mr.Silly lives

Twins, 23 Apr 2020True that, They claim to be ahead of time, now you'll have ... moreNot true that.
Name one phone released in the last two years that doesnt have to eliminate black bars by zooming in 16:9 video?
You cant.
But I know one single brand, this one here, that at least doesnt have to also zoom in the 21:9 media standard video, while all the rest have to zoom both.
Not even going into the neccessary zooming out to avoid screen bholes and notches to properly watch media or play games.
In the year of all aproximately 20:9 screen aspect ratio phones, with all those notches and holes, still searching for any complaints about the single 21:9 unobtrusive screen aspect ratio phone... is just illogical and ridiculous.

Now they do not need to disable for USA nor pay any royalties if they use.

Telephone, 23 Apr 2020The companies are most likely trading.
Disclaimer: This... moreI think Sony does this to increase profits per unit.
Let's suppose they save $10 per unit using isocell.
Then let's say they can sell 2 million units until december.
That would be more $ 20 million to them.
Also it is ridiculous Xperia 1ii has worse front camera than Xperia L2. Also 8MP 1/4, but exmor.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2020Can someone make an online petiton to show Sony we want Xpe... moreThe companies are most likely trading.
Disclaimer: This has no factual evidence, It is just my opinions
Sony sensors are high in demand, which means companies get limited quantities, or have to buy at inflated price. (this is just a hypothesis)
So because of the high price, Samsung offers their high end isocell sensors (at a discount) to Sony in exchange for some high end IMX sensors at regular price. Negotiations like this result with both companies winning.
(Remember I'm making this up, so don't quote me)
For me, the IMX557 is all I wanted in the Xperia 1II, Its actually a Sony exclusive sensor which means that its designed specifically for the 1II. I never really use the other telephoto and ultra wide angle lenses (occasionally use time to time). Maybe for the "selfie" camera, a Sony sensor might have been nice to have instead.

Can someone make an online petiton to show Sony we want Xperia with exmor only?
Everybody knows Samsung sensors are worse.
I'd rather pay more maybe $30 for the device just to get rid of isocell.

ghencea RO, 22 Apr 2020They still keep that 21:9 ratio which is very extreme. Very... moreIt Comes to personal preferences. I personally like to hold a mobile comfortable in Hand and 21:9 Ratio is perfect for watching movies (in today's world of Netflix and Amazon Prime).
Also you barely miss 1-2 words or even 3-4 letters when you read vertically. But you will have more Content per page and less scrolls. As I said it all depends on personal preferences. If you don't like 21:9, then you can buy 20:9 mobiles in the market which are useless for both 16:9 Content and 21:9 Content ;)
Also I think this design is what makes Sony unique when you go out in the world of 1000+ similar ugly designs.

They still keep that 21:9 ratio which is very extreme. Very hard to read a line and very narrow to see a vertical video because nowadays everybody is filming vertically I don't know why is that. More like a remote control than a mobile. Very long and very narrow.

[deleted post]With sale drop reports coming in, Seems nobody will buy any phone this year, Xperia included.
Sammy is down 40%, Apple 50%, others havent even made reports yet...
At least Sony is accustomed to lower sales, Apple and Sammy, or LG will survive due to other buisnesses, other OEMs depending solely on mobile sales will be hit the hardest.

[deleted post]Failure means charging about $900 for 2MP macro cameras, gorilla 5, no sd slot, no IP rating and fake antutu scores. Or a $1600 phone without AF that cant handle 3 min of Candy Crush without losing performance.
I laugh when I see few companies show antutu during the presentation.
