Are you telling me that screen costs more than 200 dollars?
Are you telling me that screen costs more than the one on S20 or Oppo?

Samsung and Oppo giving top of the line 3k HDR display with 120hz higher refresh rate out of the box. Oppo giving 12bit display too along with 12gb RAM. Also giving periscope lens camera which is absent on the Sony.

        Stop shilling for Sony.
BTW Find X2 pro has way better design and build quality than Xperia. Looks much more premium.Samsung design is ugly though.

As usual they will fail again with the 1200 Euro pricing.
Had it been 900-1000 Euros, I'm sure some Non Sony fans would have considered buying it.

Get out of the bubble of your social circle.

Vineet Reddy, 11 Apr 2020The only thing I agree with you on is the sales of SONY XPE... moreYou don't agree with facts?

Why did the brand OnePlus become popular? Coz they made a Killer phone @ afoordable prices a.k.a flagship killer. FACT!

Why did Xiaomi become popular? Coz they made great phones at affordable budget prices.
Such was the impact that Companies like Samsung and others started losing marketshare and consequently had to provide better bang for buck products. FACT!

Why did Realme gain so much marketshare in no time? Great phones @ Affordable prices.
They are the fastest growing brand right now! FACT!

OnePlus and Xiaomi had lower profit margins. FACT!

Sony, LG and HTC all lost marketshare not Coz their marketing was weak. They simply provided good phones but their prices were too high compared to other Chinese manufacturers. Majority of the Consumers aren't stupid. They are going to go for the most value for money products.

Nothing to do with marketing here. This isn't Apple products which sell Coz of marketing.

It basically fast charges the phone to 90% and then trickle charges the last 10% throughout the whole night of you plugging it in.

Haters do not know Oppo has two batteries being charged by 32.5W, they think it is just one battery and 65W, then they complain about Sony.

They also do not seem to know S20 Ultra takes same amount of time to charge using 25 and 45W chargers (tested by Phone Arena)....

To all of the people mentioning fast charge, is it worth abusing batteries with fast charge?
All the stress and heat put on the battery, is it a good thing, longevity.
Unless you have less than an hour during a layover, should you really be charging a phone over a 1C rate? I want to state that faster charging phones isn't necessarily a better phone. Its a nice perk when you actually need it, but the longevity of the phone is greatly affected. (flagships are increasing in price, some people may want keep their phones longer than 2 years) Battery degradation wont really matter if the phone is replaced with a new one within 1-2 years. What if you are in a situation where charging speed is reduced, such as, after playing a game and battery has depleted to where you need to charge it before the next session starts. The battery temperature would be very close to, if not, exceeded 45 C. (about 113 F) At that temperature the charging circuit will reduces charging current. Wouldn't this mean that there is no point of having a fast charger?

My point is, if a phone isn't capable of charging at speeds of its competitors. Is that phone considered bad/not worth its premium price tag?
                  What Y'all think?

Smithravi, 11 Apr 2020Show me the stats of chinese mobile users from 2015 please.... moreI my self was using XPERIA Z1 till mid 2019. I purchased it when it launched in 2013 and till the day it broke(which was a foolish mistake at my end as I accidentally dropped sharp edge of heavy metal object directly on its screen, funny enough only thing damaged was its touch screen, display was perfect and everything worked fine and was able to connect it to PC and backup it) it worked extremely smoothly without any lag(which SAMSUNG is unable to do for even a year let alone 6). I used it like hell played intensive games like Injustice Gods Among Us 1 & 2, Advanced Warfare, Future Fight, Asphalt 8, GTA San-Andreas and many more. Even after taking it through hell and with Storage full 90% time it still worked smoothly without lag. In last two years battery life went down specially for gaming, but for general usage like calls, messages, browsing and whatsapp it still lasted one full day.

I think may be I will not even find 2017 user. The reason why I compared with samsung is, given that samsung sells more units per year in the world (of course they must be really really good right), why people are not using the 2018 s8 models as many as Sony xperia 2013-2015 models??

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2020You didn't read my post, did you? If Sony is comfortable i... moreThat depends on many things like heavy OS (Android or iOS). Remember even Apple increased their ram from 1-2GB to current 4-5GB. Sony has changed from 2-3GB to current 6-8GB. While Samsung and other chinese are giving 8-12 and now even 16GB Ram is complete nonsense. When Sony is able to give the speed at 6GB with the same OS and apps, why other companies needed 12GB?? Simple, their ram management is poor. You might say but increasing this ram is still better or as speed as Sony Xperia 6GB version, but consumer is paying this extra increased ram. So U r the victim :) U r paying more for the same/similar speed.

I'm repeating again, OP and samsung have poor ram managent. Just search the youtube speed test comparision X1 vs 12 GB OP and S10+. I'm now getting tired of spoon feeding.

But not because of them being bad. Everyone one knows the reason why XPERIA is not selling the way it did 6-7Yrs ago. The reason is Marketing, SONY has no to negligible marketing. It is like SONY has no marketing department or the heads of the department have no heads at all. Let me ask you when was the last you saw television or newspaper advertisement of XPERIA device in recent times, because the last I saw was in 2013-14. In that sense SONY is filled with fools. We only started to see SONY BRAVIA ads since past two years before that SONY was reluctant to even advertise their TVs. If SONY expects to sell their products even without advertising then they are way over their heads. I bet lot many people don't even know XPERIA still exists.

Xiaomi and OnePlus do offer phones at cheaper prices than Samsung at the cost of their profit margins being low.

Heck some of these Chinese companies offered 200 dollar budget devices at minimum profit or even at a loss in some cases, back in the day when they were establishing themselves in the smartphone market. Now they have gained marketshare simply Coz they offered great devices at affordable prices.

We all know how terrible Sony sales are. They have completely stopped selling phones in certain markets as well. Big reason for the drop in marketshare is Coz of the same high pricing by Sony.

OnePlus and Xiaomi offer 12GB or even more in pairing of SD865 for a lot cheaper price then why is SAMSUNG priced that high it is not fair price either by your book. There huge number of factors other than Memory which decide price of the smartphone.

I did have OnePlus 7 pro 12g ram variant and I'm having OnePlus 7T with 8gb of ram and don't see any difference. That's why Samsung starts putting 12gb of ram on s20 line just to advertise the new model which doesn't even looks good (mid-range Samsung phone design from 2019, A series)
I know 8 gb is more than enough (6gb on xperia 1 was good but not enough). I gave my xperia 1 to my wife.

If Sony is comfortable in giving only 8gb RAM Coz of better RAM management, blah blah, blah! , then why charge the phone same as other phones with 12gb RAM?

Truth Sayer, 10 Apr 2020Stop defending Sony. It has been losing and losing because ... moreYou have no idea what you are saying. We are not defending blindly. When SONY does wrong we burn it up like hell. Like for example at release of XPERIA XZ2 and XZ3 we did not support it blindly and recommended OnePlus offering over SONY as there were too many flaws with it. But when people like to argue that there was a better smartphone than XZ Premium in 2017 then we definitely are not going to accept and will surely argue over it.

When it comes to TV let it be OLED or LED SONY is the best for visual quality and that my friend is the sad part specially for LED market. SONY is definitely better than its competition when it comes to providing visual experience. But because of that lack of competition SONY did the worst thing a brand could do. In 2016 it released best LED TV till date(yes even after full 4Yrs) for visual experience which was Z9D, then as the competition SAMSUNG QLED is far behind they released cut down version of it in 2017 which also extremely decent and second best TV(only next to Z9D) at that time. Guess SONY dint stop there after that they released even worse cut down model the next year and so on. Sadly even with that much of a cut down model still SONY has best picture quality out of the three. So, if you think we support these kind of tactics from SONY then you are wrong.
Before people say LG and SAMSUNG are better, I would like to make it clear that SONY is better than them for visual quality which is most natural and accurate colors without any saturation and best lossless shadow detail showing us every little detail as it was meant to be whereas the competition lacks in that area and best up-scaling in the industry, while LG and SAMSUNG are better for gaming(at which they both destroy SONY specially LG with its OLED lineup).

When it comes to Laptops the one brand which consistently takes top place in all segments is DELL followed by ASUS. Lenovo besides Think-Pad series I don't even consider them. But for that we have DELL Latitude.

Smartphones Apple for people who are used to iOS and have no hate against them as I know how good reliable and smooth experience it is even over extremely long period of time. In Android one brand which truly gives that smooth reliable and smooth experience is SONY. I am not against other brands as lot many people in my friends and family circle(85-90%) use android phones and from many different brands but when it comes to reliable and smooth usage over extremely long period of time SONY is way ahead of competition. OnePlus gets second place followed by Xiaomi and OPPO while SAMSUNG besides one or two models in past few years is out of question as they were the most unreliable phones as many of my friends who purchased SAMSUNG S series and few Note series had their phones end up at service center with mostly battery issues and even display and memory issues. Now even though SAMSUNG S series is still unable to solve the lag issues it had for generations but it has become much more reliable with batteries and displays in past two-three iterations.

We don't blindly support any single brand as no brand is perfect. When a brand does a great job with its product we support it at the same time if it screws up we roast it like we did with SONY for TVs or for XZ2 and XZ3.
