DantE O2, 09 Apr 2020my UHD tv shows my imax movies at 3840x 2160p
what about y... moreAny 21:9 aspect 4k movie you download is reproduced at 3840x1600 res, be it your UHD TV or UltraWide WQHD+ monitor....
4K is not a standard but a nominer, standards are exactly res specified, and numerous standards belong in a range of industry claimed 8k, 5k, 4k, 2k, or fHD, HD nominers...
See here an example of what LG calls 5k (NOT 4K!) Ultrawide, and how the reporter calls it 4.5K(as it is not standardized):
https://9to5mac.com/2017/12/21/lg-announces-drool-worthy-34-inch-ultrawide-4-5k-monitor-w-thunderbolt-3/
Its Exactly the same nomenclature story as here, just upped by 1K res size, and is definitely not defined, by either, as 4K, as you would like it to be.
So you would also call out LG, Acer, etc..., like Sony here, for falsely naming their monitors as 5K, when they are just, by your opinion 21:9 4K ?
On subject, If it reproduces 4K res media, it is a 4K screen. Be it 21:9 4K movies or series from amazon, netflix or whatever, Cinema 21:9 movies you watch on your UHD standardized 4K res TV, or 4k 16:9 youtube content when cropped to 21:9.
If you quarell that this res screen cant reproduce 16:9 4K content in full 1:1, you are right, but then again your 4K UHD cant reproduce 21:9 5120 x 2160 resolution content (you claim to be real ultrawide 4K, and LG claims to be 5K) in 1:1 either, so it really isnt a proper 4K TV either in same manner of logic.
At the end, Sony doesnt claim is screen to be UHD, but 4K. And they are absolutely right about it.

Vineet Reddy, 09 Apr 2020It is called UW4K resolution for a reason.
https://www.goo... morecorrect ultrawide 4k is almost same as ultrawide QHD and is far less than ultrawide UHD that's what i been saying for a long time now. and 4k is not a standard is a naming sake.
about standards it's not about being close or far it either fulfills or is less when it doesn't fulfill it belongs to lower standard. simple as that,

There are tests that prove it.
Android in most excessive, absolutely unrealistic use, uses a bit over 7 gb RAM tops. 6gb is more than enough for commonly used flagship devices, even by power users.
