Info that phone would be 1200 euros has been removed by Sony Europe.

According to info shared by Reddit users, for example in Romania it is expected to be 1020 euros. In China, price may be 6999, that translates to 1010 dollars.

YUKI93, 13 Mar 2020I agree with you about the difference between 60Hz and 120H... moreBut actually it is Sony that is stick with 12MP and increased the sensor size 1/1.7. It is biggest till now by any flagship. But samsung used 108MP instead of direct 12MP only to publicize that to record poor 8k video (8k requires minimum mp like >32MP ) and yeah 100X zoom with poor quality. Of course that digital zoom is okayish at 20x zoom but still Sony provides 3x mechanical zoom compared to 2x Samsung. Even hardware wise Sony did innovation aimed at user needs not unnecessary features like 100x zoom or 16GB rams. Smartphones will never replace cameras or laptops. 1500$ for unnecessary needs. Hmm. I see deception.

As for that 108MP, I'm sorry to say this but that is far from a gimmick. The current generation of pixel binning allows the combination of neighbouring native pixel to create one giant effective pixel when binned to the recommended resolution. So what started out as 108MP 0.8 native micron pixel image will become a 12MP 2.4 effective micron pixel if you allow pixel binning, and 2.4 micron pixel is something that you would normally see on a 1-inch camera. I'm guessing that the reason why Samsung is sticking to 12MP is that it's the ideal resolution for today's smartphones.

Unless you have owned a Sony Xperia with 4K HDR Display, you are just assuming it. I can say samething for 120Hz. Unless you Play with notification bar and scroll the pages up and down 24/7, you don't even notice any difference betwen 60Hz and 120hz. Also 8K without HDR is Money grabbing. 108MP with Pixel binning tech (equivalant to 12MP cam) is Gimmick. 16GB ram is only needed when the sofwatre is laggy on 8GB ram which means bad ram Management unlike Apple/Sony. Which is why latter always use small rams yet they are fast.

                                The summary is ,
Samsung isn't using 4k display because they don't feel it is worth anything over the QHD for that small screen.
                                It's not because Samsung can't.
Now Sony didn't make 108MP because they didn't feel it is much better. It's not because they can't.
The guy whom I replied said Samsung can't make 4k displays. This is why I gave that example.

Based on... moreIf Sony division of Imaging Sensor is worse than Samsung, then how's the process of Samsung Imaging Sensor division able to have DRAM on their camera sensors (ISOCELL series) when they don't have one before? Of course, they took royalty, how-to-knowledge & permission of Sony's DRAM patent that came out first with XZ Premium/XZs, derived again from RX100 Mk IV-V based DRAM sensor. DRAM on phones wasn't seen until both two were launched in 2017, marking a new stuffs out from Sony Imaging division. Samsung only doing it after launch of S9 series next year with their own or Sony-made IMX345.

It's all balanced, pal. No one is superior to others. Even if one of them overdoing others, that's doesn't mean the other sucks. Sure, ISOCELL have 108 MP Nonacell with huge 1/1.33" sensor to consider on, but Sony also did have own Omnidirectional PDAF that ISOCELL series haven't bake for public now.... Only time when both with switch position to have their own... If Sony Imaging division wasn't here, most camera technology we seen today wouldn't be in the spolight. Just saying...
