This phone is (too) tall, it looks like a tv remote control.

    the best thing in this phone is the number of pixels in the inch
    the highest ppi till now
    to be honest this 😮😯😱🤯 was my reaction when I saw the resolution details ~643 ppi
    it's a challenge from sony to push Samsung and other companies to the edge
    well Sony beat Samsung Galaxy S20 in the pixels density
    I'm a Samsung fan but i like the EXPERIA Resolution

          I assure you none will.

          Competiton may be smarter in future and maybe bring the common headphone jack back, probably pump up the ram/rom, camera mpx, all those number specs that dont cost RnD at all, and ask for less.... but certainly will not bring Sonys proprietary top specs and feats.

          But All I can see for now, is all of em copying near 21:9 screen ratio, like 19.5:9, 20:9 or even 20.5:9... but thats ridiculous, as those ratios dont stand up to any at all media standards

But simply put M31 cannot be called better than XPERIA 1 II or S20 series or any flagship model from any brand. There is a reason that high end models are produced. Even M1 A3 will be good enough why spend on M31.

Can't say the same for OnePlus and Apple though... If bringing back the 3.5mm and giving biggest battery on Sony phone jack wasn't learning from mistake... And the review isn't out yet, so hold your judgement...

For a recent example. 2017 XPERIA XZ PREMIUM was better than Note 8 which launched 5months later and iPhone X launched 6months later. XZ PREMIUM was better in performance optimization, memory management, Primary as well as Secondary camera and even Audio output which was first for SONY. I am not even considering S8 as competition.

                  If you remember lot many years ago it launched Z1 in 2013. It was launched along Note 3 and iPhone 5S which again destroyed them in Performance, Primary camera, Memory and even battery management.

                  When SONY does it right it really destroys it's competition.

                                  Samsung does one thing right for sure, 2 weeks after announcement and it's out.
                                  Sony will wait another 4 months. They want to make sure every body buy mobile phones from other companies and no one is left or has the money to buy their phone.

Reason is that when SONY does it right it blows off its competition completely. And this smartphone XPERIA 1 II is looking promising on paper. That is the reason that even though it is yet to be released, it being discussed more than S20 lineup.

                                    This is good and bad. Good as at-least SONY will realize that it will still be supported when it does right. Bad if SONY is unable to deliver to specs on sheets in a perfect manner, they will be loosing trust and huge market share as a bonus. Then SONY can say good-bye to XPERIA.

                                      Why this Phone has more posts than Samsung S20 ? It hasn't been released yet !

                                        AlexP, 02 Mar 2020Personally, I prefer 4k display to 120hz on FHDMe too. And any regular user would prefer 4K@90Hz over FHD or even QHD@120Hz. Reason is simple we are getting much sharper quality with decent enough smoothness. Even if it were 60Hz flat I wouldn't mind but instead of completely compromising on refresh rate SONY is giving 90Hz smoothness through software and still people are complaining of not having 120Hz. I think they are not realizing that it is 4K.
