If you're watching videos - 120Hz does nothing to improve your experience as most content runs on 30hz, so even normal 60hz panels are duplicating the frames.
Yes, scrolling will look smoother and more responsive. However, every time you stop scrolling and read - it's basically doing nothing.

Flgshp2020, 01 Mar 2020Even when not competitive gaming, 120hz with 240hz touch sa... moreWell, you should ask Sony to enable its 120Hz screen refresh rate long time ago from the early X series (all except X Compact), or even during XZ Premium heydays. Why are you asking it just right now, when the 90Hz-120Hz SRR is on the rage, started by Razer Phone in 2017 and popularized by 1+ 7 Pro a year ago? Now its on all rage, it's like you trying to find any opportunity to bash Sony just because they haven't activate their hidden SRR... Then when next iteration enables 4K at 120Hz, you would still bash them to death....

I'd rather have 4k @ 90 Hz than 120 FPS @ FHD or 60 FPS @ QHD (Yes, the S20 series doesn't support 120 hz at QHD)

60hz Sony simply can't match the experience of 120hz even when you aren't gaming.

If you had to compare models between SONY and SAMSUNG. You should be comparing XPERIA 1 II to S20 Ultra.
Not trying to be rude. But that comparison is as meaningless as comparing Civic to Phantom.

They can GIVE optio... moreIf I am getting much better and sharper display quality with no compromise while getting much smoother experience than 60Hz instead of having even more smoother image at 120Hz while compromising on sharpness. I think majority of regular users to casual gamers would stick with 4K@90Hz display over FHD or QHD@120Hz. If I had to choose a flagship smartphone for competitive gaming. It is obvious I would choose ASUS ROG Phone 3 when it launches.

LibraLol, 01 Mar 2020Oh i like this already, Sony has been making really good sm... moreLooking at the spec sheet alone, you would notice that the hardware on the Xperia 1 II is flagship grade while the Galaxy M31 is higher entry-level to lower midrange. The Snapdragon 865 on the Xperia alone would automatically command a higher price tag compared to the Exynos 9611 on the Galaxy. On top of that, the Xperia has 5G support (the Galaxy does not) and a more premium build (aluminum and glass on the Xperia vs glasstic on the M31). Not to mention that the Xperia 1 II has an IP65/68 water/dust rating. While both phones have OLED displays, the Xperia 1 II edges the Galaxy with its DCI P3 color and HDR support. All of these high-end features added together would merit a higher price tag.
