https://w... moreyes you are correct on 2... i have z5 premium and since i am in the philippines, it works unlike in us...
they continued it to x series and xz series, until xz2 and xz3 which put the fingerprint sensor at the back since they want to sell in the us... xperia 1 decoupled it because of the same issue, but now they put them together again... i can say it improves a lot... the fingerprint scanner for z5 premium is not always on... the display should be open before the sensor works... that is why if the display is off, you have to press the power button...
on xperia 1 ii, you only need to place your finger without pressing it, it helps for the longevity of the power button... i have nokia n9 and i usually press the power button, now it is hardpress, cannot turn on... my miro has similar condition but at least the power button still works...

I like Sony Product.
Sony xperia 1 II this one supported in gujarati language.
Because I have before sony xperia V but they not supported Gujarati language,
Not only xperia V May be to many xperia model they not supported GUJARATI Language and I not this issue...Not only Gujarati language other to....

Few Corrections:
1. Xperia 5 II is not successor to Xperia 1 II but compact flaghship of Xperia 1 II
2. Sony has been using side mounted fps since Z5???
3. Xperia 1 II is announced on Feb 24th and was released in May (Asia), June (Europe), July (USA). But not in Sept or Oct.

If you want 3.5mm headphone jack underside, they have to change whole internal design which might make phone bulkier or in appropriate aspect ratio, who knows. I'm pretty sure Sony has their own reasons.
I get it what you saying but according to them, and you can also see it in their Ads they keep inside their pockets in vertically straight and not in the reverse. Personally I feel those days are gone when I listen music wired while my phone is in the pocket in Bus or Tram or in Subway train lol. I use wired only at home for music and wireless when I go outside.

Latest 1ii and 5ii look great. I don't even mind mediocre front camera and somewhat dim screen.
At the moment I own Xperia 5i and won't upgrade in the next 1-2 years. So by this time my possible next phone can be Xperia 5iii or Xperia 1 iv. Or even something from other brands, who knows. :)
What I would like to see is smartphones overall having bigger sensors. So they can be used as compact cameras.

... moreDude, your Huawei Mate 20 HRR unlocked case is easier because it has a lower screen resolution panel to run (and as complementary, it runs its own Kirin chipset, so another plus)
Meanwhile, Xperia 1 II HRR unlocked case is much harder, as it has a native 4K screen resolution panel on its sleeve meanwhile Snapdragon 865 can't even handle 4K@90Hz, let alone 4K@120/144Hz at all, though 1 II known to have a 120Hz native panel as well. It was also known that Sony possibly desires to run both 4K and HRR simultaneously, to imitate their BRAVIA lineup behaviors. But those brave HRR stans are getting brave and harder than graphene, Sony had no choice but to use Samsung solution on HRR, by lowering the resolution and adding HRR as well to the option in the Android 11 update.
Not the best output, but this keeps those brave HRR stans shut their snout. I support HRR on smartphones, but this is the enforcement of HRR without consideration to take before it's ready due to compatibility is just bad as bezel-less stans did to Sony in 2017.

BliTTzZ, 30 Sep 2020From what I know they are going to improve 1ii in some area... more"crazy experiments" is somehow needed... some fans or plain xperia users just dislike the curve back of the xz2 xz3 series, especially those who wants to upgrade... but what is good about it is not everyone hates it and not everyone is due for upgrade that time, "fans" of any brand can take good care of their fave phone... i only upgrade my workphone now, coming from z5 premium... the xz premium was a temptation, but thought it is illogical to upgrade that fast (despite of skipping the x series)... the next premium was xz2 premium... the display may improve a lot, but the curve for a big phone is not my taste and i was looking for another hole than the charging hole - the audio jack...
then premium died, unless the xperia 1i is really the successor, i almost give in for the lack of audio jack since it ticks most of my requirements... but when rumors about the return of the hole came... i waited...
then 1 ii was announced!
i preordered it... wondering where is it now since it was imported from hongkong to philippines... ha ha...

And indeed this strategy stays in line how their cameras are improved with each generation. Because the same people are in charge now for both these departments.

But will it be better than XPERIA 1 II or will it go down as a foolish experiment. Lets see. I really don't have high expectations for XPERIA 1 III as SONY has a bad habit of ruining the Design or Features as an experiment after delivering a very decent phone. I don't understand why instead of experimenting they don't try to improve on what they already got to perfection.
