before getting xz2 compact i even thought of just replacing the battery of z1 compact... but since i can now get the xz2 compact, and that i need a dependable one where i can install newer and more apps, so i give in...
with the camera ui of xperia 1ii, judging from the reviews i saw online, nokia 909 has better camera ui... perhaps my bias comes from the years of use of nokia 909 and i dont have the idea of alpha cameras... so i think i have to learn manual settings of 1ii...

i also using lumia 1020 and lumia 950, i really like their camera UI, it's very ease to use and very practical. that's one of the thing that intrigue me about xperia 1II is their camera Ui, looks promising, i'm hoping they would keep that software for xperia 5II, we'll see. thanks! you've been helpful

Smithravi, 29 Aug 20204K LCD might be useless but not 4K OLED.
Also 120Hz is mo... moreomg my z5 premium is useless... ha ha...
i find it not though, despite of it not being an hdr display, believe me i can see 4k! i enjoy viewing photos shot at 8mp or more... at least comparing it to z3... and of course we can see much more on large tvs... but you do realize that we view smartphones and tv at different distances right? so if 4k is good on tv viewing more than a meter away, how about on smartphone displays you view with less than a foot a way... or palms away...

>> i also think so...
i'm waiting for those xperia 5 II actually, even though it's still way bigger than my preference but i'm guessing that's probably the smallest flagship available.
>> if you are considering the height, yes it is still big but not for other flagship brands... i was looking for something to replace my z1 compact too, as it is quite old and starts to lose battery capacity, luckily i found a used xz2 compact, this is my latest xperia yet...
how is camera manual control on your xperia? comparable to lumia 1020? nokia n909 is lumia 1020 right?
>> from miro to z5 premium it doesnt feel anything like nokia 909 (yes it is the same as nokia lumia 1020)... xz2 compact camera ui is quite there, but nokia 909 camera ui is easier to use, just swipe the onscreen shutter button and manual settings just floats on the viewfinder, i find that intuitive... but xperia 1 ii has better manual settings than xz2 compact, so i will know how it differs from nokia 909... another phone that has good camera settings is lg g4...

Also 120Hz is more useless for non gamers than 4K. Apart from scrolling experience, it is just another battery hog. Don't generalize based on your liking.

120 hz is much more useful than "4k on phone screen".
4k is useful for large screen like TV, and useless for phones.

The 4k doesn't makes image quality better because the screen is to small. Gaming with 4k display would exhausted the battery even more faster, therefore recharge more often, in the end the battery degrade faster.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020finally 120 hz. sony copies features from its competitors ... moreIf they can change the 120hz to 90hz or 60hz in the settings to prolong the endurance, I won't care 120hz, I am not gamer. Unlike you, perhaps you're a heavy gamer and you need 120hz.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020finally 120 hz. sony copies features from its competitors ... moreWhat copy and copy from whom?? Sony has been using 120Hz panels since long time. Displays were just locked at 60Hz due to battery life. Also it was no surprise that they are using 90/120Hz with bigger battery since it is not a 4K panel. Remember 5 II is just small sized flagship as an alternative to 1 II.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020finally 120 hz. sony copies features from its competitors ... moreXperia XZ Premium and some other Xperia phones do support 120 hz mode like Razer phone back then and can be enabled by working a bit on Kernel source code.
https://www.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-xz-premium-hidden-120hz-screen-mode-razer-phone/amp/
So to be correct: other brands copy Sony and Razer.
Ngl that year's Razer phone looks almost the same as XZ Premium

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2020i see, any features do you miss badly from wp phones? i... morewp is simpler to use, outright... but launchers can compensate... live tiles, but somehow it is just aesthetics, imo... dedicated camera shutter, but xperia flagships have it too... not really sure if i "miss" them since i still have lumia 909 and occasionally use it...
there are a lot of options now, if you are looking for an xperia, 5 and the upcoming 5 II are good ones... also, pixel 4a, iphone se 2020, nord are also good... you just need to have a checklist on what you prefer, like ip certification, size, ui, performance, etc... i am not sure if i am going for android nokia... lg has good handsets too, but they are also large... v60 and velvet are good
i see, any features do you miss badly from wp phones? i've been looking for xperia now, i've tried samsung s series and huawei nova, not a fans of them, especially samsung s series, those thing really drive me insane, i like the note series but it's just way too big for me
