Carrier version in Japan is 8 + 128.
Looks like the unlocked japanese device will be 12 + 256.

Somewhat disappointed for I have been using it for just a couple of months😥

Looks like you have to reset the phone and check it. If that doesn't work try flashing the software again using PC. If they both fail, replace it.

Used it for two weeks and am wondering if anyone else have problems with frozen screens and malfunctioning internet connections? Im forced to reboot mine a couple of times a week.

I'm using the xperia 1 ii for 3 days, so far - very good smartphone. Display and camera are much better than Samsung "high end" ( with Exynos all become low end).
My only "problem" is there there is no NFC toggle in Quick Settings ( like in Pixel) , pity - what did they tried to "save" ?
