Do you think this phone will come with a free gift in some markets? Like the xperia 1 which came with a free 550 $ headphone...
It would sure as hell make me want to buy the mark 2 immediately if I get a free 550$ headphone again...

Telephone, 17 May 2020Do you guys think the dielectric constant material used in ... morei'm not an expert on wireless technology, so i have no idea how to have better insulation but i do know better material, design, implementation, placement could have result on better transmission, but in real world practice, the constant noises in wireless transmission are always present so just don't expect something that would somehow dramatically improve

the next logical step would be having better power efficiency and perhaps more energy dense battery so the other next-gen/high end parts could be more practical instead of just a gimmick

Buying this day one, it will be a great phone.

Do you guys think the dielectric constant material used in the Xperia Pro could increase the reception quality for the 4G bands? (by a significant amount?) Or is it only used to optimize the 5G reception quality. The flagships this year have a some next gen components. Such as LPDDR5 ram and 5g (LPDDR4 since 2014 on the 810) So I have a feeling that a 2020 flagship can easily last 4-5 years without feeling too slow. (also Moore's law curve is flattening out)
I'm sure the future phones will have better efficiency (processor and 5G modem) and an increase in battery capacity.

Would spending the extra couple hundred (if its actually $300 more) on a Pro be worth for the potential reception benefits? Or should I save my money and stick with the Xperia 1II?

I don't have a need for the HDMI input, but the design looks a bit more durable and I think it looks nice.

Will be keeping an eye for FlashingDroids review, as he is mostly first to do it every year.

Anonymous, 16 May 2020Why don't you read about how battery temperatures that are ... moreHow hot is "warm"? Usually out bodies perceive warm if the object is warmer than the skin that is touching it. That 32C (90F) to 43C (110F). Some people shower in 43C water and think its "warm"
Xperia 1 and 1II doesn't use quick charge. It uses USB power delivery. (but its compatible with QC4.0) If anyone is wondering
Quick charge and Power delivery are how the phone communicates with the charger.
The charge current is automatically reduced when the battery is above a certain temperature. (used to be around 38C/100F but the limits may have increased to 45C/113F)

Lets say you just depleted the battery after playing a resource intensive game. The phone will be over 40C without active cooling. When you plug in the phone into a fast charger, the phone will tell the charger that it cannot take alot of current. So the charger will output a lower voltage (5v). Regardless of what charging system is used, a battery over 45C will charge at a much lower rate. (slow to normal charging rate)

So yes, the charging current is always fluctuating based on battery temperature.
But if possible, charge the phone at room temperature. This can be done by using a 5-10w charger.

Here is the lower and upper limit of charging temperatures of Li-ion and other batteries
                https://i.imgur.com/NxXkhk9.png
I also read that the charging circuit cuts off current if the battery reaches 50C (this is HOT) and no phone will get that hot. Unless you leave it in your car.

Anonymous, 16 May 2020Why don't you read about how battery temperatures that are ... morefor someone who claimed to have phones store, you surely do not have life, keep posting nonsense things on a page that not even related to your beloved copycat phones.

pandemic must have been really affected your store huh? that's why you have a lot of free time, advertising for copycat phones

                    [deleted post]Don't just talk rubbish.
The base exynos 4G variant 8GB/128GB right now S20+ is 880 Euros (not 5G).
                    12GB Ram 128GB Rom is 1080 Euros.
                    12GB/512GB is 1280 Euros.

How the hell you comparing base version price with Xperia 1 II which has 8GB/256GB with 5G

also 12GB RAM samsung = 6GB RAM Xperia

Not to forget, u only get exynos unless u r importing it from other countries but still you must pay additional VATs.

Telephone, 16 May 2020Some facts about lithium ion batteries. 1. Heat increased ... moreWhy don't you read about how battery temperatures that are kept in check despite the fast charging.
Or batteries getting marginally warm during charging and using the phone.
I'll give you a hint. It won't be available on Qualcomm quick charging solution.

MKA RASEL, 16 May 2020Lacking of indisplay fingerprint and punch hole selfie came... moreLuckily it doesn't have a punch hole. I don't want dead pixels in my screen for a camera I rarely use. And for the fingerprint scanner, as long as it isn't at the back I'm fine with it

Just copy pasting my own comment so that it won't get lost

                          - 4K HDR 10bit Display (Only mobile to cover BT.2020 gamout other than DCI-P3)
                          - 4K HDR recording at 60fps & 2K HDR recording at 120fps
                          - God tier 20 fps AF/AE with Eye AF and 60fps calculations (even in low lights)
                          - Legendary Zeiss lens with T* coating (no more ghosting)
                          - Large physical sensor size for low light conditions
                          - Photo pro & Cinema Pro
                          - 21:9 aspect Ratio unlike typical 20:9 (no Need of zoom in and zoom outs for atleast 21:9 content)
                          - Sexy design without ugly notches and punchholes (+ fits good in one hand). Probably Lightest & slimmest flagship this year 2020
                          - Fast processor unlike lousy exynos or mediatek or kirin with 5G sub6 included
                          - Dual front end facing Speakers (immersive effect)
                          - 360 degree audio function + Dolby Atmos tuned by Sony pictures/Music
                          - Wireless charging
                          - Headphones jack (no audio losses like in BT and probably will be the only flagship with 3.5 mm in 2020 )
                          - Motionblur reduction (90Hz equivalent & 120Hz touch sensing)
                          - MicroSD Expansion upto 1TB (Now a days it is a big deal to have this)
                          - IP65/68 Rating (Only mobile to include two ratings)
                          - Camera shutter button
                          - Power button as fingerprint scanner
                          - UFS 3.0
                          - 8GB RAM/ 256GB ROM
                          - 4000mAh

Honestly what other flagship company is providing these features for 1000-1200$?? Not saying it is cheap but considering the Prices of other flagships, it is still worth packed with lot of Features. Premium design and weight added.

PS: Last year 6GB Xperia and 4GB iPhone performed onpar with 12GB ram samsung and OnePlus in speed test. This also proves how crap Samsung and OP ram management is. Anything over 8GB ram is nonsense (even with 3 chrome tabs open) today. Over 12GB is stupidity and where Mr.Silly lives

I'm a big smart phone photographer but never used a Sony phone and was wondering how many years of support and updates a flagship phone comes with.
