papabearlovesyou, 15 May 2020from the day sony ventured in mobile business with ericsson... moreSE was very popular than Nokia back then in Cybershot/Walkman era. If I recall trio Xperia Arc, Neo, Ray was the last popular products before they were taken down by Blackberry's popularity, at least in my country.

What is this friggin pricetag? 1200 euros

I can grab a S20+ with snapdragon cpu in europe for 850 euros

IP68 too and decent battery life, good photos, lightweight and punch hole selfie cam

    Wtf sony

Lacking of indisplay fingerprint and punch hole selfie camera. Furthermore, price is too high.

If the phone can easily last 2 days, you should charge it ever other day. or charge it every day at 85% charge. Doubles the charge cycles.

Anonymous, 16 May 2020Xiaomi doesn't make those batteries nor do Sony. These ba... moreSome facts about lithium ion batteries.
          1. Heat increased degradation in batteries (while charging)
When you increase the charging rate, more heat will be generated. For example, charging a battery with 95% energy conversion efficiency will lose 1 watt of energy in heat if charged with 21 watts. (most batteries are over 95%) (higher capacity batteries have lower internal resistance, so bigger batteries have better efficiency)
          2. Lithium batteries have the most stress when the charge is below 20% and above 80%. 50% charge is least stressful. Less stress, less degradation.
          3. The recommended charge for storing a battery for a long period of time is 60 - 70%.
If a battery was stored at 100%, there will be degradation.
If a rubber band is left stretched at its max, over time, the rubber will lose its elasticity.

Battery longevity can be easily increased just by taking care of it.

I try replying to the ones replied at me, for the sake of a debate, and just sometimes kick in replying onto obvious nonsense false statement posts, and then it starts all over again. But this seems to be a same XrG person using many IPs, right now putting false words into my mouth, calling me a lier and a troll now.

I know, I know... its how trolls operate here. It just that it takes a certain amount of time for me to realise it, bcause you know, they hide behind Anonymous and use different location IPs.

5k mAh batteries emptying out within 6hrs - Lies.

Bigger capacity batteries can only have 300-400 charge cycles like regular Li-pro - Lies.

Chinese phones have to be charged twice a day - More lies (based on anecdotal evidence of some Chinese midranger you refuse to name since you will be called out on your lies)

Don't be surprised if you are called a tro*l if you consistently engage in lies slamming chinese devices.

Tann Hauser, 16 May 2020Ignorance yes. Especially in light of recent Oppo high W ... moreXiaomi doesn't make those batteries nor do Sony.
These batteries are standard batteries available from Third party manufacturers.

Sony using regular Li-pro with 300-400 cycles which is confirmed. Your anecdotal evidence doesn't matter.
If they are rated for 600-800 cycles, then that is how they perform. Xiaomi simply spending more on bigger Better batteries.

At the end of the day, your lies have been busted since you were dismissing claims that bigger batteries have same 300-400 charge cycles.
My arguments are based on facts not delusions of grandeur.

                        [deleted post]There you go...
I do stand absolutely right about you fake people.

So no OEM naming, as that is just what you crave and await for.

Especially in light of recent Oppo high W fastcharge with 30% battery bust disclaimer on the same matter...
800 cycle is typical battery lifespan of any battery, as proven by lab tests. 600 claimed ones are just more honest about it, as fastcharge obviously does take its toll on battery cycle span.
It can be prolonged only by taking care of battery charge sequencing.
That exec made just a vague claim of having more cycles than other gaming phones, without any backup explanation whatsoever.

And your nonsense about Xperias 400 charge cycle is ridiculous and false too, as here I am writing from an Xperia with, let me repeat it for the 15th time, over 1000 charge cycles and just 9% degradation... meaning it can go on for possibly 1000 more (2000 cycles in total) till officialy bust at 20%.

[deleted post]I have used All type of phones as daily driver in the past decade.
About 30-40 phones over a period of time mostly flagships.

I run my own shop selling phones from multiple brands on the hardware front and doing software part as well including tinkering, custom ROM installations, rooting, etc.
Even installed Spyware on a certain Samsung phone model which were later distributed to one of their branches consisting of 60-70 employees.

Where did you get the idea that Chinese phones are my favorite?
I simply appreciate good smartphones irrespective of brands and appreciate the innovation that Chinese brands have brought in the past few years both on the hardware and software front. Not afraid to deal with facts that some guys over here have a huge problem with.

Anonymous, 16 May 2020Why don't you ask him if poor sales are part of that vision... moreLike I said earlier, you still don't know how many units they produced? If they manufactured 600K units and sell 400K units that's bad business for you right. Let them present their quarterly fiscal earnings then we'll know for sure if they made loss or profit.

Even the Galaxy Fold which is a niche device being a foldable, sold more than 450k units in total since its launch.

You know why this phone has 21:9 aspect ratio, 4K display, Cinema Pro app, Photo Pro app and full uninterrupted viewing experience? It just doesn't fit in like the rest and few of us like such a product.
