got a used Xperia 1 III from Cash converters in the UK for £225
Absolute bargain, great screen, great build quality, and the battery is actually very good (even more surprising considering it is a used phone), very good stereo speakers.
The reasons to upgrade to the latest 'V'Model , better battery, brighter screen, better sound.
Not really worth that extra £1000. The phone does run hot when doing lots of gaming, updates, multiple apps, but for me it ticks alot of boxes and the camera is very good and nice and easy to use. I might even get rid of my Sony RX-100 Camera. When the Xperia 1 V comes down in price I might trade in at CEX.

That's why I kept my Xperia on Android 11. All newer updates do are focused around planned obsolescence. Then again Google and their Pixel lineup are probably the worst at this (I upgraded to my 1 III from a Pixel 3a). Samsung has been getting better, but yeah.
I'll continue holding out until there's a good Android update that is relatively bug-free. In the meantime for all those who have updated, have you tried factory-resetting after updating?

i have been using sony xperia 1 iii for about 2 years now. its a good phone with bad software. every other security update bring new bugs. with the recent update there are 2 issues notably fingerprint scannner and the network issue. google it with build number 61.2.A.0.472 you can find many people complaining about this but sony claims it to be hardware issue. either way its a shame for such a premium device to fail in 2 years. its been about last 4 months facing network issue and sony didn’t fix it and about 2 month with the fingerprint scanner. if you are investing big amount better look else where.

Mostly I love to share my sound through Bluetooth with my wife while we travel in airplane and watch Netflix. Then we can both use our Bluetooth headsets without wire.
I use Sony WH-1000XM4 but wife Samsung Galaxy buds and works great at same time.
Battery looks like is lasting little better after Android13 over Android12 but I need to do some cleaning in my phone as battery was lasting full 2 days in beginning and now not always full day. By time my phone got full of apps that are rarely used. 212 apps might be to much but my phone is after 2 days, 2 years
