      This device is very underwhelming compared to the recent flagships.

      Plus this one doesn't even have a fast charging brick in the box. The Mi 11 Ultra is better. Let's be honest.
      Just install GCam on the Ultra then it would beat this thing a lot of times, no matter the condition is.

Then I switched to XZ Premium which I purchased for my Dad when it launched but then Gifted him XS. I was planning to purchase XPERIA 1 II but the purchase got delayed and postponed repeatedly due to Covid. Now I plan to Purchase XPERIA 1 III. Lets see how it goes. It all depends on when my cousin plans to visit thanks to Covid the planned trip is getting postponed repeatedly.

            I had xperia 1, now on xperia 1 MK2, considering on buying this one also as soon is available in Croatia, awesome phones, no problems at all, thanks Sony

                  I was wondering if he was more careless or not actually dropped his phone several times and you hadn't, that's all. I've pre-ordered the 1 III an am hoping for the best

                    Using Sony from 2016. In the beginning Xperia Z3 compact (still works), now XZ1 4/64gb. And will use sony, because the quality of its devices, the optimization & design are top-level-solutions.
                    Sony stays Sony!

                      SONY should simply look at numbers and charts of their sales from 2013-2015 and of 2019-2021.

                      In 2020 whole year they only managed to sell less than 5million phones throughout the world. While they managed to sell 5.8million phones in less than a month in a single region and besides that craziness they managed to sell 20million+ phones across the world. That is good 4-5times more sales than what they are currently seeing.

                      If the sales were bad back then I would have accepted the fact that SONY is not selling well and should Exit Smartphone market. But that is not the case. SONY is just outright being dumb. They are ruining their own profits. I wish a New CEO steps in as the current one has no experience or running a company specially one that big.

                            First mistake was...They ditched comm provider contracts in so many countries, including mine, only to rely on just certain webshop sales and YT commercials. That strategy only works for low and midtier OEMs selling cheap devices with minimum marketing needs, but not for hightier and premium OEMs like Sony. Guess it was due to marketing cost cutting starting from back in 2016.

                            The other mistake is...If one tracks up for ex Xperia YT reviews, one can notice many of them exclaim at start that they got their device from Sony for a short review period of time, with a return policy, and that they were in no way paid to say good or bad things about the device. You dont hear that kind of claims from other phone reviews. Certainly its the same policy with all, big or small subscr reviewers, and Some just meh them with their pretty shallow revs, others just love them after doing some proper deepdives. And therein lies the second Sony marketing problem.
                            So, While I acclaim their obvious marketing integrity, I am certain that in todays web marketing circus, messed up as it is, there is no space for integrity, but only agressive incentivised marketing. Honesty can take them only so far, to fall short.

                            Im perplexed how even with that bad marketing, they achieve profits from their mobiles.

Don't know why it ended up like that but SONY currently has no sense of Marketing. The reason for drop in SONY sales is not their products being inferior(which they are not, SONY has best products out there in the market) it is their non existent marketing. And for some reason there is not even a single person seated in high enough position who realize that and address the issue.
