I'm planning to buy this xperia or the note 20 ultra, but some reviews say sd888 produces a lot of heat, is there a huge difference between 865 & 888? Which one should I buy
Currently using a galaxy note 9.

      5 = compact flagship
      10 = midranger

      Is it really that hard bro. Try naming the different variants of Redmi vs Poco vs Notes.

        Can they please name their phones with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Like wtf I have no idea which came first/what is entry level or flagship???

          Mangoon, 17 Jul 2021Whaddya think the chances are that Sony is only planning on... moreAlthough the confirmation has been given from the article, I don't think that Sony will just update their flagship to the latest Android only once since they restructured Xperia many times since 2019, because even the OG Xperia 1 and OG Xperia 5 already received Android 11 last year, even outpace Xperia 5 II's update.

                    Sony has responded to Droid apps. Update 19/07 11:00 a.m .: Sony has contacted us again in response to our article. It is stated that incorrect information has been provided from the Sony employee. However, it cannot be told what the update plans are, which still makes it a strange story.Sony Mobile is providing regular and timely security upgrades. While phones cannot be upgraded indefinitely, we provide security upgrades within the industry standard on our devices, depending on regions and carriers.

                      Mangoon, 17 Jul 2021Whaddya think the chances are that Sony is only planning on... moreTBH, GSMArena didn't really have the most reliable source. This year, they've been stirring the Sony pot pretty badly (they had to 'fix' the error in their review that the 1 Mark iii didn't run 4K@120Hz when YouTube videos and our comments here LITERALLY kept telling them that it does) as well as churn out a half-baked review.

                      Considering the 1 got Android 11 with 12 going to last year's model, it's safe to say Arena's 'source' forgot the words "at least" and the 1 Mark iii will get two OS updates.

                        Mangoon, 19 Jul 2021I appreciate the response. And it makes me hover over the ... moreExactly my thoughts. I love Sony products, but this is a off-putting. I was thinking about their battery saving strategies as well, the android update thing is a direct counter to that.
                        I haven't ordered the phone yet as it isnt available yet in my country, but i would have pre-ordered if it was.
                        I really hope either Sony directly or through someone clarifies this as soon as possible.
                        I was happy with their entire package with the "shortcomings" as some people put it as well as the high price (and i am not counting the headphone deal as i already have both the WH1000xm3 as well as the WF1000xm3, so the bundled ones are pretty much useless for me).
                        But, the software situation, if true, will make me put on brakes to my plan of getting one

                          It may be one of those short-term gains at the expense of long-term viability. When others are giving YEARS of updates and Sony is all "Meh. We'll give you one. And that one will be available in just a few months. So it's pretty much just the one Android update that honestly is just a month or two away. Then we'll add security updates to something that is already stable." The "We care about long-term battery longevity!" line when I am potentially losing on out security and Android features...It makes me leery of what I am actually getting long-term, you know? And all this is said about a phone that I WANT. Why make is so difficult to take my money??

                            And if i am being honest, this is the one thing that might make put off the idea of getting one, of its true. I like the rest of the package, but only one major Android update is a concern. I am not even asking for 3 or 4 OS updates like Samsung or Google, but a confirmed 2 would be good.
                            And i know we can root the phone and do it ourselves, but i dont really like the idea of rooting as it breaks a lot of the already working fearures sometimes

                              Those curve adjustments he mentioned. Was they added in the photo pro app before he took the image. Or did he adjust the image after it was taken?

                                Whaddya think the chances are that Sony is only planning on doing one major update (to Android 12) with 2 years of security updates as is being reported? That's ridiculous.

                                    Anonymous, 15 Jul 2021Does Xperia 1 mark III support mmwave 5G?Unfortunately not. They may have a month before its release but mmWave is still not listed on their website for the US so Verizon (and somewhat AT&T customers) lose on this iteration. I find that weird considering their Xperia Pro has it so they know it's a necessity for North America.

                                      Sony phones have a different feel to them. Their simple and clean UI, true to life colours, highest resolution screens, great sound quality via headphones, no over saturation of camera images, lovely and beautiful wallpaper themes along with the overall entertainment experience in a gracefull looking handset is the reason Xperia phones have garnered a Cult following even if the sales figures were low in the past few years. In a world where mobile phones are getting stagnant with not much difference from one generation to the next, everybody should get to taste the Sony Xperia experience atleast once. Big ThumbsUp to this device. Just finished the pre-order process n i cant wait to get it in my hands.
