      Not a deal breaker.

      - a headphone jack
      Not a deal breaker, but good to have.

      - expandable storage
      Many Android phones have it.

      - high quality stereo front-facing speakers
      Many Android phones have it.

      - a simple, flat-edged, rectangular design
      Not a deal breaker. Somewhat old design already.

      - H.S. power control, battery care
      Not that good actually.

      - control over the camera settings
      Software doesn't really match with the hardware.

      - photos without excessive post-processing and HDR
      It doesn't look as good.

      really suggest you to move on from Sony. other than the headphone jack, i don't see why you must choose Sony. if you really care about audio quality, probably get a Sony Walkman, if not, there are phones that support LDAC and aptX HD.

But for me, Xperia represents a dying breed of smartphone that I'd be very sad to see go extinct. What will it signal to smartphone manufacturers if Xperia sells poorly? It'll signal that customers don't want:
        - a display with no notch or hole punch, no curving over the sides, square corners, accurate colors
        - a headphone jack
        - expandable storage
        - high quality stereo front-facing speakers
        - a simple, flat-edged, rectangular design
        - H.S. power control, battery care
        - control over the camera settings
        - photos without excessive post-processing and HDR
        The things manufacturers seem to think customers want instead of these are totally perplexing to me. So, more than all that, we supposedly want... face unlock?? Wut?? Super-fast charging, even though it's bad for the battery??
        Yeah, there are problems with the 1 III, but I'd rather give them a chance to ameliorate those problems going forward, rather than give all their good ideas the death penalty because of those problems.

There are others similar reviewers out there like Linus ( he calls paid ones as showcases, though he didnt exactly do a review for this phone), MKBHD is good as well.
                Genshin impact runs okay on iPhone. I normally run at high preset. There are dropped frames, but it is still playable. Cant say anything about S21 or xperia. Mainly bcoz xperia has mixed reviews out there and havent checked the s21. Some say xperia does get hot, but doesn't throttle. Chances are they dont play it long enough 🤷. Will definitely check it out when i get to buy it

The phrase about the s21 screen being better in every department was especially strange. I assume they mean every department except, colour, resolution and no punch hole interruption. Which doesn't leave much. Just seems like they accentuate what it can't do as well but ignore or take away importance of what it does do better.

He is the only one to put a disclaimer at the end, suggesting authenticity of his reviews. Others get paid to review, so they can't put any.

                    Call of duty isn't a heavy enough game. It gives similar framerate on other Snapdragon 888 phones.

                    The reason why people use Genshin impact to measure thermal performance and gaming is coz it is the only game to push the cpu and gpu hard enough, and phones without properly thermal management like Xperia 1 III, Galaxy S21 Ultra Exynos, iPhone 12 pro Max get exposed.

Phones with macro cameras do not have these features and Sony doesn't have macro capabilities. And yet they cost similar. Pick what is important for you and buy it and stop complaining. No phone has everything no matter the price

                                Anonymous, 05 Jul 2021Is Xperia 1 III compatible with T Mobile’s visual voicemail... moreNot 100% sure yet but it will have LTE bands 2, 4, 12, 25, 26, 41, 66, and 71 while supporting 5G bands 41 and 71 so I don't see TMobile having any problems supporting the device for VoLTE/VoWifi.

                                    Xperia is cheaper than same ram/rom top models of those two.
                                    And despite, gives an extra charger in the box, and some expansy earphones for it. I think its a very good deal considering.

                                      For all the talk about how expensive the 1 iii by every reviewer (they don't seem to compare the various memory size options), the price just came out in HK (all phones are purchased unlocked). Factor in that Sony has expandable memory to 1TB so one could even compare the cost of Sony against 512GB versions of 12pro Max and S21 Ultra is more than what I've quoted below

                                      USD/HKD rate is 7.77 today. So the USD equivalent is $1197, $1247, $1313 respectively. Granted the actual cost of all three phones are different in each country factoring discounts and promotions.
