Just saw a comparison with the Mi 11 Ultra and interestingly, the Xperia 1 III was better in low light.

And yeah, I feel sorry about that pal... But everything for battery life, ROG Phone 5 (Pro) does a great choice as the nearest counterpart to 1 III in some specs, though with those some specs you needed are sacrificed in the first place, especially that MicroSD card that you got from Black Friday, considering ROG Phone 5 doesn't have MicroSDXC slot :/. Hopefully, the ER of Xperia 1 III of its upcoming review isn't too bad considering its 4K HDR OLED 120Hz HRR display, considering every year, we always see the increases of ER in Xperia Premium-heir family every time. From Xperia Z5 Premium's 66hr, all way up to Xperia 1 II's 83hr.
Though, I will get my chance to purchase the Xperia 1 III in the future to experience it all by myself as I think it has the same complete specs as the Xperia XZ Premium that I'm using now, especially I take a lot of photos/videos in my XZ Premium, so MicroSDXC is crucial.

Persios, 15 Jun 2021But there isn't anything about endurance rating , that... moreI understand and aware highly of that, and I'm also eager to know the Endurance Rating result of Xperia 1 III that conducted by GSMArena, where some people are also waiting for the same thing to know what ER results that either improved, the same, or even lower, but we have to wait in, hopefully in the review that may come in a few weeks from now on.
However, Dometalican has been eager to know how the general battery life of 1 III for almost a month now since Sony launched the Chinese version of 1 III on May 20. And considering no reviewers mentioning of general battery life of 1 III until SCMP mentioned it, no wonder some people are worried how Xperia 1 III will last considering that very special display of 1 III (4K HDR OLED 120Hz HRR), so to make sure they're not in vague wondering about the battery life of 1 III behind speculations, I think giving the SCMP Review of 1 III is at least enough to give some picture for now how 1 III will last throughout the day. Just hoping Xperia 1 III ER will do better though.
But I do think, I'll still purchase Xperia 1 III as my next phone to replace my second-hand of the beloved XZ Premium that has been chugging for years now. In terms of completion of specs, 1 III has some similarities to XZ Premium such as a 3.5mm jack and MicroSDXC.

Pixel phones producing similar results in 1 sec with auto mode than Xperia can deliver after 5 minutes of tweaking each time. Manual modes on other phones make their images even getter than Xperia. Xperia loses in auto mode as well as manual mode

Seeing how bad charging time was on the Xperia 10 III (different beast, I know) I do hope it goes differently with the 1 III and 5 III.

Don't know what to do... probably going to wait for the ROG phone 5 Pro. I'll have to sacrifice the water-resistance, mmWave, and worst of all, expanded memory (got my 400GB MicroSD card from black Friday for nothing) but if it means a better battery life, so be it.

The Xperia 1 III review from Ben Sin of South China Morning Post is out (the outline is clear), Dometalican, and it has the battery life described there by the reviewers as you wanted. But you need to sign in via Google to read the review to the battery life section.

I have a pixel 4a for the time being which i am planning to replace with xperia 1 iii. I don't like the night mode shots, specially when a person is in the frame. It oversharpens them and the person end up looking like someone has Photoshopped them in front if a scene. But, other people might like such a look, i am not to judge them. And i agree with all of the people in this forum saying that the reviewers should mention such things. Images are always subjective, what one person likes might not be liked by the other one. So, i believe that part of a review should be handled better. Its not just for Sony, but every

Most reviewers end up mostly evaluating just the Auto mode, so everything about the learning curve goes out the window. And thats what i meant earlier when i said they do this bcoz most people just want a point, shoot and forget phone shooter. To them, Sony seems behind on such scenarios. Again, its not my view. But i get why they do that. But, what they mostly forget is normal people dont really care about the things they do bcoz normal people dont and cant compare phones side by side, unlike them and most people click photos to share, which again, all the commonly used platforms compress the images further.l, so it doesn't really matter. The rest of the phone is pretty good for the price and mostly adheres to the current flagship standard, with some extras like the

4k 144hz, 2000nit brightness, insane cooling (Lukewarm at ultra settings on full brightness), sd card slot, headphone jack, 6000mah battery, highest mp in a main camera yet. I might get the purple myself. Never owned a purple phone before. I'm glad it's only $1,050usd

Much has been written here about photo quality and comparisons. And I understand one simple thing: users cannot accept that their vision may not coincide with the vision of the manufacturer.
And I really feel that users, even the most sophisticated ones, have a very poor understanding of how digital photography works.
We have JPG 8 bit. We have a scene, for example 24 stops. We can push all 24 stops (gluing) into 8 bits, or select a certain piece from DR and use only it. In the first case, we will get a photo without details at all, but with wide DR. In the second we can get a photo with more contrast and details, but with narrower DR. Each manufacturer decides for itself the size of DR piece that will be used in JPG. And what post processing will be thrown on top. Nobody is obliged to do what some undefined user wants.
Is it that hard or complicated to understand?
Next. Each sensor has its own specific DR, beyond which it cannot physically step over. The solution was found by Google, which came up with not just gluing, but RAW gluing. And even in this case this gluing algorythm isn't to bite off a bigger piece it can chew. All because every knowledgeable manufacturer understands that when expanding the DR, you have to sacrifice details, contrast and clarity of the picture.
And on the one hand, there are users who are already accustomed to the dumb HDR, who do not care about anything, as long as the average picture has a maximum of color spots. And on the other hand, we have Sony, who have always and everywhere tried to work within certain standards. And 8 bits, if you go deeper into the topic, suggest a maximum of 7-9 stops to preserve detail and correct adequate contrast. Previously, only 6 stops were allotted for 8 bits. Today, the initial balance has already been violated and the permissible DR has been brought to 9 stops. But it is not enough for users, many manufacturers have gone further and are trying to shove 11 stops in JPG.
Why do lovers of this over-HDR think that Sony is obliged to do as they like, and not as others (like me) prefer?
About Nokia users with 16-bit sensors for example. It seems to be all looking great and all, while DR is a bit lacking. But it should be just about photo? Why shouldn't I want to enjoy the video? Nokia on video is far from modern flagships and looks very bleak compared to them. But the users of this brand confidently tell how well the camera takes pictures and ignore video quality.
I urge to evaluate the camera more adequately. It may be worthwhile to somehow indicate what is important to you, and why you like or dislike the camera. But you should always remember that the manufacturer does not have to adapt to you.
I personally like how Sony processes the photo, forcing the user to think at least a little bit about what he is shooting and what he wants to display in this photo. The user is forced to highlight accents. With HDR users just shoot everything with the same method and photos look boring and plastic. Therefore, I choose Sony, and who needs DR can choose from 1+, Samsung, new Apple and other Chinese.
P.S. I forgot to write that the better the sensor for the photo, the worse it is for the video. A photo does not require such a load to process a photo; to process the same DR, the same bit rate and the same matrix resolution in a video requires tens of times more resources. Therefore, manufacturers are looking for a balance. Someone gives priority to photos, someone tries to leave something for the video.

It's not even close to being the best Camera.
Flagships from Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo are way better than what Sony has to offer

Try the James lavish comparison with the iphone12 for example. A very clear example of oversharpening and computational imaging Vs traditional photography.

Which it is not. There are few reviewers who do that. Sadly majority of well known famous reviewers with huge following don't do that. What they should be saying is that learning curve is steep and for people who don't want to go through settings it is not suitable. Which we understand and can accept. But outright calling it to be inferior or not good is not correct at all.

Something easy like pixel or iphone camera is always a good option for most people. Though, most common folk wont notice the difference between a Samsung or a sony or an apple clicked image either. So, in the end it doesn't really matter, does it. For most people, they want to click to upload on social media and if MKBHDs blind test is anything to go by, the best point and shoot doesn't win that ever. It clearly shows what is more important to normal people who don't have multiple flagships to compare things side by side
