I think that all those reviewers are biased by one side or the other and I'm pretty sure that 100% of them are. You look at one review and it will say to you that let's say camera is great and on another channel it will say it's bad and so on every aspect. In the end, we should all understand that the flagships have pretty much the same hardware configuration and even the software is largely the same with some small overlays. The difference in price is made by the build materials like the kind of glass and maybe the display although those are also pretty much the same in the flagship area and camera optimisation. So, in the end we will end up paying for the name especially. If Sony Xperia 1 III would sell under a lesser name but exactly the same phone, it would cost 300 Euros less without question. Too bad I just love Sony and my house is packed with their overpriced products.
So, my advice, just buy what brand you trust and like, anyway almost all are made in China with few exceptions.

But the other Flagships cannot do what XPERIA 1 III camera is capable of. But to that XPERIA 1 III needs bit adjustment in the settings. But that is what reviewers don't like. Hence that call it to be bad. Reviewers are lazy.

Professional photographers say that it is incredible. Tech reviewers say it is poor. and im not just talking about 1 photographer and 1 tech reviewer. This was a common theme among reviews

            When it was launched, people had high expectations from the 20mp camera, ultimately it lost to HTC, LG and Samsung.

            Thet have improved their cameras since the launch of Xperia 1 series, but it's still behind Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oneplus and others.

                This phone can actually run at 4K 120Hz at the same time.

                  At this point, Sony has the next couple days to reveal pre-order dates that land in June (assuming 2 weeks are given for bonuses and whatnot). They are SO lucky the ROG phone 5 Pro hasn't launched in the US yet as well.

                  Sony should dabble with MediaTek for the 5 and 10 mark IV next year because this chipset shortage is killing them...

                    They pay the price for this with lackluster results in photography compared to other flagship and then you guys blame the weak sales on lack of marketing. In reality, it's simply not on the level of other flagships, which is why people avoid them in year 2021.

                      They can't wrap their heads around the fact that other manufacturers can launch mid range priced phone with flagship specs. This is yet another reason why Chinese manufacturers ate all the market share of Sony, LG and HTC.

                              Retention of SD card and 3.5mm jack, while having top tier camera unit (HDR/ fast tracking/ periscope), explains my patience in waiting for Xperia 1iii release. But please don't abuse my patience & exploit with excessive premium price.

                              Also, why is it released in Mainlance China first (nowhere else in the world)???

                                  Nikorasu, 13 Jun 2021Doesn't make any sense if you ask me. Yeah this time it was funny as it was not even released in Japan. I think this was to push out the greater volume where possible instead of shipping and spreading the initial stock to multiple markets as they can greatly save on shipping specially in this tight situation. SONY is literally pushing the entire production into Chinese market and it is selling great. So I think that was a wise move on SONY's part as it is making great profit doing that.
