KING DRANZER, 06 Jun 2021Guys I am still waiting for Tech Nick's detailed revie... moreI'm waiting for that video too. I already don't like that 120Hz is just toggled on without adaptability and it just stays on without customization.

However, I restrain my thoughts until I see that battery life (the thing nobody ever seems to cover).

    Guys I am still waiting for Tech Nick's detailed review. It has been almost 5 Days since his initial Unboxing. He will cover the Camera and how the Auto mode has been improved over last years XPERIA 1 III. And lot more. Lets wait and see how it goes.

Never considered S... moreIn basic mode the pictures will be very good optically, they will seem less detailed, but that is due to the software not oversharpening as agresively as other brands. however keep in mind sony don't really do computational photography, in other words, you are mostly going to have to choose how you want the picture to look. You can see what's in the shadows at the expense of blown out highlights, or visa versa. The benefit is the photos will be a good representation of what you are seeing with your own eyes, but they will probably not look as good as other phones that will be more evenly exposed and have more saturated colours compared to real life. My opinion is that in manual mode and shooting in raw no phone can quite match the Sony when using the native focal lengths. As a point and shoot and/or using digital zoom Sony can't quite match some of the other flagships. As always no flagship wins in every situation.

          Stumbled across this device by accident. Never considered Sony smartphone as previously other flagships attract me more. While I'm thrilled with what the potential this phone have for photography, especially using it for taking pictures during hiking, but I have some questions in back of my head. How about the photography quality when using auto mode for daily drive with just want simplicity?

          Please don't bash any brands here, just want to enjoy as a consumer getting innovative products, let it be Sony, Huawei, Samsung other any other major brands.

            2 things that I really like about sony is they still keep the memory expansion slot and the earphone jack. Unless it's a gaming phone, you'll probably found none of it on the other flagship devices.

Most ar... moreExactly, and if someone is a movie enthusiast and prefers to watch on his/her phone, he/she'll definitely love having a screen that's made exactly for this activity. Particularly, Netflix has about 70% of their contents made in 21:9 ratio, so this phone's whole display can be utilized to its fullest, unlike the 20:9 or 19:9 from others which would have a little bit of letterboxing, but more prominently, the screen cutout will be significantly noticeable as the content tries to occupy the whole screen.

                    [deleted post]Sigh, the phone has a 120hz 4k display (gimmick or not, it is there) front facing stereo speakers, SD888, 12gb of ram, IP 65/68 rating, ufs 3.1 drive, 256/512gb ROM, a 70mm/105mm telephoto lens, raw support. Among other things, the price is comparable to other flagships with similar specifications. This phone cannot be classed as mediocre. You obviously have a problem with Sony but facts are facts. Right now you can't beat most of those specifications for this price. So, unless I am missing something, how is it an overpriced mediocre phone for 2021?

                        [deleted post]XPERIA 1 II had most natural looking pics in Photo Pro Auto Mode. That is what XPERIA does. It gives close to realistic image quality. If that is not what one likes and would like to have warmer touch to images yes he may need to spend few minutes adjusting the settings but he can definitely achieve that. Can SAMSUNG or Apple achieve the most natural looking images that SONY does, no matter how much you dial in the settings and try to turn off or turn down the AI to its lowest state it still processes it to be bit saturated or if you manage to bring down the saturation the low end gamma takes hit. Either way it is not possible for SAMSUNG or Apple to achieve that. And once the settings on SONY are dialed in you can leave it there and you just need to do basic adjustments to get perfect image or no need of that either if one is fine with not having perfect image similar to what you get on SAMSUNG and Apple.

                        You tell me why did other brands go up to 2K+ as FHD and FHD+ was enough for most. Reason is that it is in deed noticeable. Similarly going up to 4K from 2K+ is also noticeable. Tech Nick made a video last year for people like you who wouldn't believe unless they saw the difference with their own eyes. Go and check it. The difference between FHD+ to 2K+ to 4K is so clearly noticeable that one cannot deny not noticing it unless he is viewing at some low resolution like 720p or lower.

                        Most content available online is neither 18:9 or 19:9 or 20:9 so what is your point. That all the existing Flagships are dumb and not worth the money and we should be purchasing 2017 or older Flagships as they have 16:9 displays. To be honest 21:9 is the second most used aspect ration across Internet as Some TVs and Many monitors have been using that aspect ration for more than a decade now. That is second most widely accepted aspect ratio over Internet in past decade.

However a small percentage of people want the best display possible and are willing to play with the settings to get it, like watching 4k 21:9 content on it and like manual photography. For that small percentage, this is the best phone. Por the rest of people then there are better alternatives

Every modern phone (including this) would be practically useless to watch most video content (except movies, of course)

                                        I would just like to say to the Sony people that your mobiles are very nice and cute, the accident to run, now from here too and in terms of strength, only you should do so much work .
                                        You can also increase the width of your mobile display
