Good specification but need to upgrade the design of sony phones.

    Sony has describe fully on their website
    And a bit more of the spec on the livestream
    Yet the phone information is still wrong 🙃

    Writing 1080p/120hz 4K/60Hz is a BIG INSULT
    Even thought they have explained everything on the livestream
    4K/120Hz made possible because the help of,X1,BFI, etc
    And could be pushed further with motion blur reduction to 4K/240Hz ( which you can see on a screenshot of game setting in official Sony Website )

    Sony is really weird though that they never fully advertised their product, i gather informations from livestream, sony us, and sony eu to understand how 4K 120Hz is possible, BFI is found on Sony Eu website

    IS THE SCREEN A NATIVE 4K 120Hz? No
    DOES IT FEEKS LIKE 120Hz? Yes.
    So how does it works?
    What exactly does it means?
    SD 888 limited to 4K-60Hz, Sony had to put "BFI" 60Hz to make it 120Hz
    And motion blur technology 120Hz for games to make it 4K 240Hz

    The UNDERRATED Sharp Aquos Zero is the first smartphone that put BFI and Zero 2 has succesfully put 120Hz BFI that makes it the smoothest phone on the world with FHD 240Hz

    Sony Xperia 1 II is the first and only smartphone that creates motion blur technology
    1 II is 30Hz
    1 III is 120Hz

    We could say Sony Xperia 1 III is running 4K 240Hz (4K60+BFI60+Motion120)
    But motion blur only work on games so that the spec sheet is written 4K120Hz

    Seeing how fast Sony has adapt for smoother screen, in 1-2 years it would have 360Hz
    If Sony finally adapts Aquos Zero 120HzBFI, it will be the first phone with 4K@180Hz
    If Sony switch so Exynos 2100 that supports 4K120Hz / snapdragon finally capable of 120Hz
    Sony would have a True 4K@240Hz screen
    With their current motion blur technology Xperia would run games at 4K@360Hz which is even faster and better than High End Laptops

    BFI&Motion blur reduction on Xperia is the best technology for the future because processors arent doing intense task, or running at high frequency
    Not even big companies like Samsung Huawei Apple with massive budget able to implement those features on their product

    360 Spatial Sound also DESERVE to be out on phone specification instead ( Yes, with stereo speakers ) this is the first on a smartphone(only possible with dual front facing speaker) and going to last years ahead competition

    Cardslot info needs to be updated as well, they clearly said Supports up to 1TB

    They clearly STATED the phone main camera support OIS+EIS yet you just write OIS on the info

    ²They clearly STATED the phone built with STEEL FRAME NOT ALUMUNIUM

    Wind filter recording DESERVE to be written as well. How many flagship phones support that?

    TOUCH TRACKING RATE deserve to be written as well, touch response and tracking rate is different and Sony is the only smartphone stated tracking response rate with 240hz
    The setting screenshot on website clearly shows touch response rate&touch tracking rate is DIFFERENT
    The technology is equivalent to 480-720Hz+ response rate because the screen predict and ready before your finger even touched the screen, so it react faster.

    For people who wonders " Why Sony Drop to 12Mp?" The reason is the phone captures 3 times faster, which results : less blur, less noise, less heating, fastest AF (including eye AF), continuous shooting,etc. Overall "Best image quality"
    Native 12Mp is better than binned 12Mp
    And Sony did mention new features on 1 III which is "AI Super Resolution" which is hopefully similiar but not as good as Adobe Super Res
    Your 12Mp is automatically enchanced and will result clearer and better image than 64-108-Mp

    The other issue is their price were too high. Well they are really pesimistic and producing at really small scale which increase the cost, if they started to be serious and burns more money on competing, surely


    You guys do know Gsmarena were the biggest community and please carefully write the specifications, keep it updated fastly
    Dont kill the hype and brand

    When other brand like Samsung/Xiaomi, you guys always write down great info, building the hype, so active and updated so much info

    Cmon, they had a lot of features and exclusive stuffs that's not available on other flagships.
    That'ill be a HUGE waste if they really decide to quit smartphone market
    Lets built the hype

                This Sony 1iii and 5iii have all the 4G bands and 5G bands.

                    Its prolly 4k@60hz,1080p@120hz, despite of the soc, how many games/apps on playstore support 4k?

Instead of Lik... moreWell, for start, all listed phones are expensiver and keep in mind, in last few years, sony was selling its phones together with PS4 andheadphones, which cost somewhere between 230-300 eu. In this case, you buy this phone for 1100 eu (but I believe it will be around 100 eu cheaper) and get fancy headphones that can be sold further for 250 eu (I did that when I bough XZ2, I bought it for 750 eu with sony WH1000XM3, I sold them for 250 eu, so price of the phone was actually 500 eu).

                        Secondly, despite the camera MP, all listed phone has similar spec, so talking about that lead to nowhere. About 50 MP vs 12 MP camera, I am also using nikkon d7200 with 24 MP for years, I also printed some photos, taken with nikkon to A2 format (cca 420 mm x 600 mm) and resolution of these photos was fine, so 50 MP quite meaningless, what you shoul consider is of pixel size (bigger size means less noise). Camera app also takes some credits, but when you get used to it, you can make fine photos with any phone.

                        And last, but not least, some listed phones are not avaliable in every EU country.

                        And don't even start talking about the phone quality. These listed phones were just released, and about the manufactures, I do not know anyone, who would use Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, HMD, Lenovo or any chineese phone for more than 3 years (I was using my previous phone for 6 years - it was galaxy S2, I also know some iPhone users who are using 4 or 5 years old phones).

                        I am not planning to buy this phone (yet) but if you ask, I woul suggest you to buy it because of price. If this phone will be sold with headphones, I would buy it and then sold headphones.

And Sony noted that the display doesn't have any notch or curve because they respect content creators. Besides different people have different tastes. I can't stand notches/cutouts just like you can't stand bezels. It's always good to have variations in the market, wouldn't you agree?
