I disagree about the scanner. For me it's the optimal solution if we can't have the one on the back of the phone.

bukeyolacan, 11 May 2022No 8k video, still 1/1.7" sensor, same 12mp camera, mo... more8K is still not necessary as there's no graphic card or TV that can truly handle that kind of huge resolution. Also, it takes up way more storage than necessary and heats up the phone more. I'd rather see a higher frame rate capability on smartphones instead.

When are they gonna put under display fingerprint? side mounted is outdated already, they had this design ever since Xperia Z5 from 7 years ago.

I'm not convinced by the Xperia's camera.

Sony should just drop everything and slap a GN5 or IMX707 as the main camera. The software has proven its salt, so having the option to crank up the resolution is a choice I want. I really like the mainstream choice for now. Shoot in 12MP, and shoot in 48, 50, or 108 if you want the extra detail. The Xperia needs this.

On the other side, the telephoto lens is just....no. I don't struggle to snap good photos as GSMArena did with their 1 IV. And I use a P30 Pro. Until the Xperia can beat my phone, its headline feature is useless to me. Image quality needs to be good before you can start messing with variable or longer focal lengths.
