AlexPP, 15 May 2023Totally lied Good for you that your Pro-i is working fine. My one was completely defective.
1. Overheating after even 5 minutes in the camera app.
2. Camera app crashing for no reason when taking photos or just freezing.
3. The screen was completely defective. Blacks were completely crushed and they were not black at all for an OLED screen.
4. It took 2 weeks to get the screen fixed and it did come back working fine. They had definitely fixed it, but then they disconnected my ultrawide camera. So I had no ultrawide at all. Just the main camera...
5. There was visible all over the phone and under the screen on the sides the glue they had used to reglue the screen back after taking the phone apart and fixing the broken screen.
All this hassle, I asked the company what my option was and the guy said they had taken the phone off their catalogue. I just checked now and online that company is still not selling the Pro-i anymore. You can now find the Pro-i here sometimes for only €900 lol... half the price it was at launch.
The Pro-i had an amazing camera but the Snap Gen 1 + the super overheating OLED display + super thin phone with bad cooling. It was literally the worst idea Sony ever had.

Reds, 15 May 2023Then i should put you has their head cause you know better.... moreWhat? You say every other phones crops in to zoom unlike sony? I hope you mean the telephoto sensor not the main one. Continuous zoom isn't what's being discussed. The main sensor is being discussed here so you got everything mixed up, thinking main sensor is same as telephoto.
The point is that Samsung only crops for video, but Sony crops for both video and photo. So the latter is worse in this regard.
They wouldn't employ someone who stands for user rights and product improvement, not for making most profit. And honestly, who are you to put someone as their head? Do you work there?

I had their Xperia XZ Premium and it was a beast of a phone back then. Single sensor absolutely destroyed everything. Though I had to return my first one too because 33% of the lens on the left-side was defective and made all of my photos turn out totally blurry when I compared with others on Reddit and XDA. When I got it back, it was more like 10% of the left side that was blurry, so I just left it. My ex got it as a hand-me-down after 1 year. Otherwise I loved that phone. Didn't even care that the bezels were massive. It was a joy to shoot photos with.
Xperia Pro-i was next. Huge disappointment. Amazing, amazing, amazing camera. Utterly garbage phone attached. Overheating in 5 minutes, throttling immediately. Crashing camera app. Both vlog screens DOA. Accessories were far too expensive. Support was horrible and the screen (which seems to be the same on this phone) had completely crushed blacks and broken dynamic range. I sent it to get fixed and they returned it with a disconnected ultrawide sensor and thought I would not notice... The returned phone had very visible residue from the re-gluing still visible under the corners of the screen.
I complained to my provider and they sent it back and took all of the phones off the shelf and discontinued sales because they had so many dissatisfied customers. I moved to the S22 Ultra but with it's Exynos 2200 it was arguably a worse phone even... the camera was total garbage compared to the Pro-i, although everything else was better. It still throttled a lot though.
Sony really needs to do something. They have some really amazing ideas but they fail so badly at the execution. The only brand I've ever had to return twice for fixing except Samsung. Sony put proper fast charging in the phone and figure out better cooling so you can. Cut the price by at least 10-15% too.

What the hell is Sony doing... 33W charging? Haven't you guys learned anything since the Xperia Pro-i? I loved, loved, loved the camera on the Pro-i. I absolutely hated the phone on the camera though... Worst charging I've ever seen. It overheated every 5 seconds. Throttled in the camera and video and the Vlog screen also didn't work properly. Performance was atrocious and the phone was so uncomfortable to hold. Even the super weird aspect ratio was a huge problem and totally non-standard. Why did they bring it back?
I sent my Pro-i for repair because the OLED was completely broken and the blacks were totally crushed. I confirmed that even the cheapest LTPO I had on my other phone had proper blacks unlike the Sony. They returned the phone with broken/disconnected ultrawide... They seem to have used the exact same display, pixel-for-pixel in this phone... It's the same phone as the Pro-i basically, but this one has worse camera (except for zoom) and it looks like slower UFS storage. Major difference seems to be the upgraded selfie camera.
Sony please... what are you doing. Your alpha cameras are amazing. Totally world class. If you can't put those sensors in your phones and also ship with proper fast charging then just don't bother. You can't justify releasing this phone for 1400 euro. That is just insane. What about Vivo and Oppo which are completely revolutionising cameras. Sony do something... start by reducing the price!

None of Sony's cameras other than a7siii uses it and has been criticized for doing so. Had it been so good then most of those dedicated cameras would use it but obviously don't.

I dont know much about these numbers in cameras.. but I like a good ultrawide view in a camera.. such as this one.. 12 MP, f/2.2, 16mm (ultrawide), 1/2.5" (probably 124˚)
I guess this is one of them.. and I always like/trust the quality of Sony cameras..
but in opposite.. I am disappointed most of good phones do not try to increase their slo-mo performance video recording fps rates.. more than 240 or 120... where as some of them provide this feature as 1920 FPS at 1080p resolution !! which is way better than 240.. am i right ??
I dont understand this.. is there any 3rd party app which can do this ?? thats why non of them phone developers dont bother developing this feature ?
