Hello everyone, after I have concluded my reserach about the 4G/5G band details for WW and EU models, I purchased EU model since I live there and didn't want to take any risks about. It's been almost 2.5 months since I am using this phone and I would like to share my ideas about it for 2 reasons. First, obviously, for others who is willing to buy this phone and answer their questions in mind. Second, as an experienced mobile phone user, expecting anyone from Sony side to read these comments and develop their future products by hopefully reading these comments. Because let me tell the last thing I should say in the first place, this phone makes me "wonder" the upcoming generations of Xperia 1 serious in terms of curiosity which I have lost for all the other brands. Well, as a starters, that's something really valuable. Before explaining let me tell you a little bit about my smartphone journey, htc hd2, htc one m7, moto x play, huawei mate 20 for myself(purchased bb passport,bb keyone,bb key2, htc windows phone 8x, microsoft lumia 950 xl, samsung s22-23-zfold4 for my family members) So, lets start,
Positive sides;
1. General build quality is fine
2. Speaker and headphone sound quality is great
3. Overall performance is nice
4. Being able to hide silent notifications in status bar(such as smart watch connectivity icon)
5. App spesific language selection
6. No dublicated app confusion, just pure google versions
Negative Sides;
1. Lack of face unlock
2. No easy toggle for sound/silence/vibration Will try to get used to that small icon above the volume settings
3. Fingerprint reader is problematic with an accuracy of 70%
4. Limited screen protector on the market (could be nice if one would factory installed) Solved it by buying spigen screen protector and quite great.
5. Camera lens protection is a must too since the camera bump became flat with the original case. Solved it by changing the phone case to Spigen and it has the enough protection for both screen and camera bump
6. Sony is capable of doing a better gallery app than Google photos or etc., come on, where is it? Currently using Google gallery app.
7. A shortcut for settings? Either a toggle on the top or a gear icon would be great. The easiest way seems to add settings on the homescreen.
8. Double tap to turn on the screen to check notifications but, to turn it off again? Should be double tap again etc. Power button also recognize fingerprint and the screen turn on completely, to turn it off again, we should press the power button again.I needed to turned off this settings since there is no way to turn off the screen afterwards
9. Where is app lock? Seriously? Had to install bitdefender security and solved it with that
10. Possibility of having the screen auto rotate function just on media apps, like gallery, netflix, prime etc. not any other application like browsers, twitter etc. ?
11. Maintenance mode? Or repair center mode etc? That's quite important.
12. No option to set up the home page to a desired page instead of the default left one?
13. Random restart (2 time)
14. Random airplane mode (1 time)
15. Random screen offs for around 10 seconds (2 times)
16. No smart cover /flip case(lack of quality cases). I might have got used to mate 20 smart flip case, and getting too nervous when I put the phone in my pocket without a flip case.
17. Notification led?
18. It might a google calling app software issue but in order to get rid off notification count for calling app, opening the call app is not enough, you should enter call history, go to missed calls. After that the count number dissappears. Let's not forget that when you open the call app, every call appears there, including the missed ones too.
These are my experiences so far. Thank you for reading.

Just received mine one day ago and here are my conclusions:
Pros:
1. The display: this is basically perfection. 4k was an overkill. (690ppi on Xperia 1 V vs. 400ppi on this one). A few years back, I played the same video on my Xperia 5 ii and on my brother's Xperia 1 ii and there was absolutely no difference. My vision is excellent (after many tests - I work in the industry). On the 1 VI, you get either creative (which is more natural) or vivid (which is more saturated). They are both nice. To get an idea of the quality of the display, check any Sony 4k Oled TV in a store. It's simply better calibrated and more immersive than anything I've seen. One more thing here: no punch hole, no island, nothing. Just 6.5 inches of image.
2. The speed: I couldn't make it choke. But it should be known I'm no gamer. For gamers, I recommend my son's ROG 7 Ultimate (similarly, no cutout in the screen).
3. The battery: I've charged it to 100% last night, at 10:15 PM. From then on, I've watched videos and used it as a regular phone for 5.5 hours. At 5:30 AM it showed 82%. Now it's 14:06 PM, I've used the device sparsely during the morning and it shows 73%.
4. The media experience: front speakers and such a nice image. I guess this is one of the best media-oriented devices on the market right now.
5. The camera: I haven't tested it enough. It's all right (that is, in most scenarios, better than S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Max), but it's still a camera on a phone. Working regularly in Photoshop, I know that phone cameras are no match to professional cameras. The manual controls are nice. The telephoto macro is even better. The wide camera sharp and well balance.
6. The overall experience: this is difficult to assess. I believe people have to try it to understand it, while most of the consumers are simply sticking to a brand (as, well, I have done in the past 9 years) or an environment. With iPhone users is simple: I used to have two rabbits when I was a kid. Every time I would clean their cage, I'd simply take them, and place them near the cage. They never left. They simply waited for me to finish so that they could go back in. They perceived limitation as safety. How often don't all of us do just that? With other users, I don't know. There are many goodies out there.
7. Clean Android experience, with but a few proprietary apps or apps that need to be disabled so that you don't get to see them ever.
8. 1.5 TB storage (512 internal + 1 TB sd card). Actually, my brother has had 1TB of storage on his Sony for 3,5 years now.
9 Two-step camera button. (3.5 jack, so you can connect professional headphones with an adapter)
10. It is definitely the most premium piece of technology (just on par with my Leatherman Surge Black edition :) ) I have ever got to carry around. It feels both practical and unattainably elegant.
11. At 190 g, it feels light in the hand (though I should mention my palms are rather large).
Cons:
1. It got quite warm while being set up. It took me about an hour. The battery went down 20% during the process. But it was still very warm.
2. Charging speed. It is slow. It's no match for contemporary 100+W Chinese phones. And it is slow on both cable (65W, though they say 30W) and Qi.
3. Limited personalisation options.
4. No charger or cable in the box (not a big deal, but still).
5. Only 3 years of OS support and 4 years of security updates. My point here is that one of the reasons I bought a new phone was that my old Xperia 5 ii could not log in to my bank app with anything else than PIN. It was out of the security period.
6. Not particularly great for point-and-shoot. But not that bad either. If you're into such toys, this is no option for you.
7. Expensive. I had to choose between this one and a Pixel Pro XL. Ultimately, I went for this one, but it was expensive.
8. This must be said again: sooo expensive. I expect it to work for the next 4 years, presuming that I'll live that long. Anything less wouldn't feel right.
Well, this is not a phone for everybody, but in my 20+ years of using mobile phones (thinking of my touch-enabled Sony-Ericsson P800, back in 2003, 4 years before iPhone inveted the thouch phone lol lol, 20 years going and this is still incredibly funny) this is by a long margin the best.
