I've had Sony's in the past and I loved them. But it's their 3 year OS upgrades that annoy me. If they did 5 years or 7 like Sammy, they'd sell way more.

He also owns a OnePlus 7 Pro and it has a 1440p and 516 PPI screen.
OnePlus 7 Pro screen is way superior, than a 1080p pixelated garbage.
I just asked him and he made a comprison.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE vs OnePlus 7 Pro.
1440p wins.
1080p, you can see the pixels.

Pixelated trash, he says.
He can see the pixels and it's annoying.
Sony has also 1080p, but smaller PPI.
That's even worse.
I will not pay 1400€ for a pixelated screen.
No thanks.

The screen is stunning.... moreYou can blame the tech community and Tech YouTubers paid by certain brands forcing Sony to implement LTPO display and retiring their signature 4K 21:9 display as soon as possible, pressuring Sony too much when their smartphone division was never meant to catch sales since 2019 and when they can't find the perfect display of their requests due to time constraints, they had to settle with 6.5" LTPO FHD+ OLED 19.5:9 Samsung display, that's the most widely available. Mind you, the 6.5" LTPO QHD+ OLED 19.5:9 Samsung display is exclusive to Samsung and certain brands, and Sony is unable to attained it, and Sony probably stick with 6.5" as the ideal screen estate. And other custom 4K 21:9 LTPO OLED display by Samsung or other display maker would have made 1 VI costs above 1600€ (the older 4K 21:9 OLED non-LTPO were already above 120€ per display, adding more could be around 150€ per display) and then tech community would've complained again. Putting Sony Xperia in dilemma situation to put. 1080p+ while isn't ideal, have made Xperia addressed the "Premium" lineup biggest issues, the battery life, now one of the highest in GSMArena current chart.

All HDR videos also look sharp and amazing.
Same with my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
505 PPI.
If I was Sony, I would use 1440p screens, like many other brands or go back to 4K.
