PabloDog, 18 Nov 2024Some samples (link expires in 7 days). 1 VI macro lens avai... moreThanks, I've already seen those though from one of your earlier posts. What I am interested in is the zoom capability of the telephoto (NOT macro). From what I've gathered it's useless on anything above 3.5x and complete and utter garbage when there's a lack of light, which is a shame really since larger telephoto lenses capture OK enough images.
Just have a peek at the earlier links I sent.

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2024This is not at all what I was asking for, please go outside... moreYou want straight out of camera fotage and video I posted is non-edited video from 85mm 1V lens. Im speaking about video not photos, because I write last time that 99% of zoom lenses on smartphone is useless (quality is like compute nightmare). Xperia 1VI telephoto has macro function and under Xperia 1VI Daytime zoom macro film there is link to samples from 1VI. This is one of samples (Auto mode):

Try to talk in super windy conditions walking outside without. Go in super busy super market next to 100 people. It's a nightmare for all mics without this cool tech. But some people don't go outside at all so it's not a problem.
What about other cool super cool features being added? Is there something new since the release?

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2024I understand how to use manual mode with all it's adju... moreThank you for your answer. Two points here:
1. On this link https://www.statista.com/statistics/271496/global-market-share-held-by-smartphone-vendors-since-4th-quarter-2009/ you can get a good perspective on Sony's smartphone production market share over the years. I don't believe they want to sell a lot of phones. They had the same strategy with laptops: Vayo laptops were exceptional (though rather expensive, just like the phones are) laptops, but the numbers of units were small and the numbers of models reduced to but a few. Compare that to Samsung's smartphone offer (there are so many classes, models and submodels that I've lost track) or to HP's laptop offer. You get the picture. I believe they want to maintain a guiding image for other manufacturers (and less for the consumers): here's what can be done, here's how, here's why simplicity in form better covers complexity in technology etc. Remember that Sony is a key player when it comes to image sensors. Last year, I believe, a high Sony representative declared that they can now say publicly they delivered image sensors to Apple for iPhones in the past decade. In a way (and it's a very strong and subtle way), they manufacture these units more for their own competitors (which are or can become their business parteners for image sensors) than for end users. A few years back, they even delivered Samsung an image sensor that was one generation more advanced than the one they installed on their own devices.
2. The Polaroid. You must be young if you don't understand. Such tools can help us spot valuable fleeting moments in time. It's one particular second, one particular perspective. Sony offers me 60 pictures per second. To what end? I will seldom go back and look at them (and never look at each of them!). Same goes for any other smartphone out there. Whereas with a Polaroid, a very young man can learn to some extent what we are and what we keep in our memory.

The tests I've watched consistently showed worse performance on the Sony. Especially the telephoto. It's just straight up bad compared to the competition.

Goodthings, 15 Nov 2024You seem to be used to Auto mode. Sadly, taking pictures ha... moreI understand how to use manual mode with all it's adjustments, and I have used DSLRS extensively. I'm talking about how most people take photos in auto mode, so if Sony wants to sell phones, it needs better auto mode. For example i'm taking a quick photo to send to someone, or taking a picture of something i want to look at later, i just want to take a quick photo without fiddling with adjustments. If I'm taking a photo of wildlife I want to quickly capture the moment while it's still there, and a good auto mode helps with that.
Also, I don't understand the point of buying a Polaroid in 2024. It's like willingly giving up on the past 30 years of progress in digital cameras. You still capture the same moment, the difference being, again, convenience. You don't have to buy film, you can instantly share/copy the photo, you can take burst shots without wasting film, you can edit it later. You might take a great photo on film but it turns out under or over-exposed and then you can't do anything.

what's more, I can prove that you are wrong and you are repeating false opinions of fake testers. With my Xperia 1V (1VI), I have all the photos I took on a given day (session) and the times they were taken, and believe me (when I went to Wawel Castle) I have photos on my disk from the whole day and there are the hours of taking the photos and the photos data. I wouldn't even have time to take many shots and set up the camera specifically.
I even checked it now, I usually took 3 photos in a given place and all of them are OK. Time? All taken within a same time. Look, screen from my PC with time of "shot"
https://ibb.co/GsKmGm1 (samples from video "Xperia 1V Exmor T daytime photos (auto mode)")
Is that point and shoot?
Below my two videos there is a link to a disk with some samples.
There are many corrupt testers on YT and I won't even mention them
SOO i can even proof that Xperia 1V is superb point-and-shoot camera (I have many photos on disk, much more that I uploaded to film and there is time when all photos was taken).

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2024The video you posted looks fine, but theres no camera movem... moreI post videos with photos that I make in Auto mode (night and day) and for 10 photos maybe 1-2 was not good as I want. If lens is clean on Xperia it is ultra hard to make wrong photo. "Testers" knows that. Always wipe lenses and you always will took nice photos.
PS Additionally, focusing by touching the screen in a given place also sets the exposure measurement location, so in Auto mode you can still influence what the photo will look like. Do you want a photo taken through bushes to have more bright bushes than sunsets? Click on the bushes..
"The video you posted looks fine"... no it is not fine. In "raw" non compressed version on good OLED it looks staggering (look on details on roof and check every frame).
maybe soon i will post non compress ver.
