            Size,
            Sony kept the small phones when other brands didn't. Yeah xperia 5 mark v didn't have telephoto. And there was no mark vi. I don't know what they are thinking.
            Camera,
            I also hope for such configuration. But instead of getting rid of the zoom lens I think they should bring back the xperia 5 with telephone. And while it is true that prime lens are better than zoom lenses, zoom lenses also have there pro's.
            And even apple uses 1/3' sensor for telephoto while sony 1/3.5'. Yeah prime lens can improve sony but the sensor would hold sony back. Apple manages through AI(software). But in manual mood sony surpasses other's due to 170mm. Samsung and Huawei have ditched 240mm for consistent performance. But with zoom lens performance can be maintained across the focul length.
            It is rumored that sony will bring 1/2.3' sensor in both the ultrawide and telephoto. The resolution is not yet rumored. But if we look back at xperia's transition from 8mp to 12mp, we can hope it will be 48mp. The selfie will stay the same and update in a later version. Unfortunately only zoom lens will likely be updated. The other prime lenses will stay the same.
            While it's true sony used 1' sensor in the past, it was cropped at hardware level. I'm not talking about eis or anything. It was a gimmick. But most phone's which have 1' sensor utilize the entire sensor. Sony was technically using 1'. Not in reality. And there was software solution because it was hardware size, not upscaleing resolution.
            Design
            Sony has a legend. Xperia phones can stand sideways. So it's unlikely they will change the position of buttons. Yeah notification led is a welcome. Flat back would be great. But most companies like to glorify there cameras by making them look big compared to the phone(not actually big). Compared to other's Sony is doing good (no fake camera bump). They can add a fat battery to make flat back. But that would make the camera look small. So, we better give that up. Rumor suggests it will be like Samsung S ultra but reverse position. So, anything like Google or ring shape is not coming.

            Curved screen require more software attention. And Sony is bad at that. Also Sony has some gaming features. And mobile gamers /game's don't like curved display.
            5500mah would be nice. But Sony is kind of like Apple. Although there is new technologies available to make batteries bigger and many phone's have moved from 5000mah,it'll take sony some time. But some say companies are only using this technology now because of sd 8 elite. So maybe sony will bring new battery.
            While it is true, Sony has slow charging but what are you talking about? Sony xperia 1 vi 30 watt wired 15 watt wireless vs iPhone 16 pro max 25 watt wired 15 watt wireless. Qi2 is 15 watts. Although wireless charging is harmful for environment because Wireless chargers typically have an efficiency of around 70%, while wired chargers can be up to 95% efficient. However, some newer wireless chargers can be closer to 90% efficient. Also Wireless chargers produce more waste heat than wired chargers, which can negatively impact battery longevity.
            But if you want fast wireless charging vivo 30 watt, oppo 50 watt, Huawei (ex android) 50 watt, Xiaomi 80 watt, Honor 90 watt. And yeah it's wireless. Wired is even faster.
            And magsafe isn't open source. Apple cooperated with Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Qi1 was open source even without Apple. It's just that Apple was getting pressure from verious authorities for being isolated and monopoly. So they adopted a open source technology. They didn't make it open source. Magsafe is still owned by Apple. So Apple can use both qi2 and magsafe for charging.
            And qi2 is 15 watts which Sony has(not sure if qi2). And why would other companies downgrade their phones? It's like 2-6x times slow.
            I agree, everyone copies bad habits. It's a bad habit in itself. We can only hope. In the past companies ware driven by long term sustainable profit. But now they want to make quick money/squize every single penny from the market.
            Software
            It's like the camera auto mode algorithm. They aren't even competing. They only begin to overhoul the camera app because Qualcomm buffed the AI capability of sd chip's. They had NPU in the past too. But sony was the only company that didn't use it. Because they didn't want to optimize and improve every year. Take it slow. Even now they aren't able to fully utilize it.
            Marketing
            The lesser people know, the better. To begin with the 1600$ base version launch price. Most people are not gonna look back. Marketing will be a wast of money. They can profit more by not advertising. Even if everyone printed money, xperia's are like limited version. And even if price went up, Sony won't profit. Because they sell through 3rd parties (company not shop). So it'll be 3rd parties making extra profits for free and Sony basically promoting other companies. And at some point Sony might increase price even further. Either way consumers will lose(those who can buy).

In theory I know that this sensor should beat almost any phone sensor out there (except the new LYT sensors from Sony), but practically nobody did the kind of test I was looking forward to. I couldn't find what I was looking for.
              I found some astro photos but with short exposure, unfocused.
              Basically, the reviewers don't use tripod or don't use a long exposure - at least 15s.
              I couldn't find no "Milky Way" photo out there, if somebody could help me, please.

Especially with software support and features compared to competitors. Then I moved to huawei which was the best thing ever but then US and China fight happened lol. And now stuck with all overpriced brands. Thanks god vivo exist but their software support as bad as sony, oneplus is bang for buck but only downside slight worse camera compared to competitors

That's all. Do not excpect 70-200GM quality even on 20% :D
                                  PS In "under the sun" at 5:57 you can see another usefull feature of 85mm photo Lens and 120fps - u can achive parallax efect (from hand) and it is only possible in combo: telephoto and 120fps slow no. It is near impossible to make that (with 4K HDR quality) on 30fps and 60fps mode.

What I am interested in is the zoom capability of the telephoto (NOT macro). From what I've gathered it's useless on anything above 3.5x and complete and utter garbage when there's a lack of light, which is a shame really since larger telephoto lenses capture OK enough images.
