People: Sony should make 1 flagship phone a year not every 6 months.
Sony: Ok here's Xperia 1, then here's Xperia 5, which is basically same as Xperia 1 but a bit smaller and cheaper and lower screen res.
People: WTF! So stupid of Sony releasing an Xperia 5 that is similar to Xperia 1, without new features.

What about this phone is old?
seems that nowadays critising sony is cool.
what other brands did that sony didn't?
Even new samsung flagships is like sony's old design.
both sony amd firefox are rising but some people always critise them specially their critises are really unfair.

sony is not focusing on mobile sales. I think they are just supplying parts these days. All their release of these models are just for the sake of it I believe. rather have a model every year than none. Its just throwing in some cash to waste and let people know that they're there. Otherwise I don't see a reason why they're releasing outdated crap every year with a premium price.

The only "non compact" thing is it's height. All phones are getting taller, Sony is the exception and get taller than every other phone, of course, it can get smaller, but that would be too much narrow of a screen, Sony's new way is 21:9, we just have to accept it unless they decide to change it. Also, they didn't name the phone Xperia 5 Compact, it's just a compact version of the 1, the same way the S10e is a compact version of the S10. And I'm very happy with my gorilla hands, I can use big screen phones comfortably :)

My main use is phone (obviously) and text. Sorry Sony, i don't watch movies and even less on tiny tiny screens.
Just did the calculations, the height of the Xperia 5 is 24,4 % greater than the XZ1C ! My hands and my pockets won't grow as much. I will stick to my XZ1C for a long long time... And i have the jack!!

21:9 is a really bad idea in my opinion. Xperia 5 should have been 18:9 or 16:9

I really love Sony products especially their phones but it seems things are getting worse.......... Led flash is too week when taking photos at night and reduction in battery capacity is a big problem. Apart from Sony I'm unable to use any other phone.......... It's my prayer Sony lights up and shines like diamond

Sony just need to improve the screen reolution and screen to body ratio on the xz1 compact. That's literally all they need to do.

If they get the price right they'll emerge as one of the best competitors out there but it's not gonna be the case. In my country the S10 is way cheaper than the Xperia 1 so that's a big blow. I was a Sony fan till XZ1 but after that I gave up as Sony has been wiped out in my country their phones are more available in my country.
