Halo worlds out there:) 😊
Xperia 5ii is a phone created to satisfy those looking and appreciate a compact phone factor while packing powerful tools for photography and videography geeks.
I don't understand those who purchased and later complained the small size of it.
I appreciate the size created especially with protection case on it yet feels compact enough. One will not complain after long hours of holding the phone. At least not me.
I put on a Devilcase which looks fantastic and yet it is so compact to hold or put in pocket.
If u fancy about screen size, u may consider Xperia 1ii. But this u will have to sacrifice on the battery life / duration per cycle charge compared to 5ii as both has the same battery size.

It makes for best use of technology, no matter the price point.
Three cameras just for mugshots, is just what people want and need most in life.

Below average selfie camera. No 120Hz refresh rate. Having 3.5mm jack is a good thing.
With a bezel like that Sony Xperia 5 II could have easily implemented a dual selfie camera or even triple selfie camera like ASUS Zenfone 7 Pro.

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2021With that response, clearly you don’t own one. It’s an exce... moreI wrote there im owned this model,
just updated the phone to latest software.
The camera: im starting like the image processing from this phone, sharp and clean. But at night still lot noise in the pic.
Screen: maybe not sharp as 2k screen. I can see the difference between this phone and pixel 4 xl when watching the movie. Screen is good and nice color. Only if can be brighter.but satisfying.
And started to like this phone. Even samsung S20 i only use for a week. I feel this nicer than s20.

I bought this one finally. Must say glad to be back to Android after iOS for 11 months.
Generally I am satisfied with the phone, I got everything what I expected after reading experiences from the users.
Though I must say I am a bit sad there's no option to schedule AOD unlike Dark mode, or perhaps I can't find it.
Also I would kindly ask for help with this one - where can I turn on/off notifications for applications? So I need the list of all installed applications and then to go for a review on/off.

Like they say don't fix what ain't broken.
Sony are very hard too Root. I had too root back to Android 10.
Even on my Note10, Android 11 sucks. Revert back to 10. It's much better. It gets hot but doesn't throttle, on Android 11 it doesn't even reach 60% consistently on cpu, gpu, but on 10 it was reaching 100% usage , I don't know why people complain about heating as if electronics don't heat up, lmfao.

There is image retention on screen only after 3 months of usage. Never faced this issue on other OLED screens. May be sony used low quality screen. What a shame!

Fabulous phone, flawless response and the only regret is that I let a previous Sony phone shadow my judgment on this gem. A lot of extra wizardry if you understand how to use it. This phone is for the different kind of tech geek and for me it ticks all the boxes. If you’re looking for a phone that is simple, this isn’t it. This is for people that like to fiddle with settings to get the maximum out of the device.

Anyone noticed their cell signal strength is terrible and jumps all over the place? Im using the AS72 variant and compared to my old galaxy s7 the signal strength is terrible. Canada, bell provider. It could be Android 11

x5ii quick story
evaluated flagships in a big theoretical matrix and this phone won along with 8Pro which i already have. Hoping to get the light phone, without notch and with all the classic features i bought it. Returned after 1 day:
- 21:9 makes display small, eyes suffered straight away, also the brightness isn't great
- size 6.1" is on par with Galaxy S7/8/9 cubic meter wise, e.g. S10 would have much bigger display
- ultra slippery hard to pick hard to hold body.. absolutely unusable without fat ugly case
- unwanted keypresses thanks to buttons spread everywhere and unwanted unlocks thanks to fingerprint acting after touch
- almost impossible to swipe from the edge was the major showstopper, also triggering SideSense was super difficult
- very bland OS feels vanilla on one side, but also feels cheap and sad..Win app exists but can't backup no more.. so no extras.. no Dex or sync tool. just upgrade
- extremelly weird selfie pics
what was cool:
- no gray backbleeding like on every Samsung/Oneplus OLED
- cam trigger...special button will not only launch camera but also start shooting.. it also acts like focus because it intercepts half press
- Sony variant of Samsung SmartStay is fantastic. keeps phone unlocked while you look at it and this time it works because using sensors.. Never heard of it but it's super cool
- SideSense is a good improvement as it brings multiwindow back..but the requirement is to activate is easily and that doesn't happen because of display edges on a flat phone
- fingerprint unlock was perfect if it was easier to locate..
what a lesson.. despite hoping to prove otherwise i learned punchhole is ok, fingerprint under display is ok, big display is beneficial, and curved display is also great.
