Nick, 27 Mar 2021Wow, this is hands down the smoothest phone I have ever use... moreI honestly wouldn't mind if they put a 90Hz screen on 1 III. Surprisingly I can se a difference between 60 and 90, but not a difference between 90 and 120Hz. Maybe I'm in minority but I get your point. If Sony wants to be compared with the best out there, then they need to have it all. And 120Hz is I guess a must have for flagships these days.

I have one issue with Viber - when I want to listen to audio message over the ear speaker, I raise the phone next to my ear and normally the sound is transferred to upper speaker and the screen should turn off during that time. But in my case only sound is transferred to the upper speaker, while screen is still on - I think it's some Viber bug, because on Telegram the sound is transferred and the screen is off when proximity sensor detects (everything works as it should in this case).
Does someone has the same issue with Viber and audio messages, and what is the solution?

Wow, this is hands down the smoothest phone I have ever used, even smoother than the S21 series and I'm not even joking. I hope the Xperia 1 III has 120hz because the 5 II does seem a little SMALL for me

One of the smoothest phones I've used, great screen and don't feel big and heavy, amazing speakers and it's front facing! Battery life is really good and camera seems to be ok. But in low light the front camera is real trash, it's the worse ive seen when 200 dollar phones have more quality low light front cameras. But because everything else is so good I can live with trash selfies 🤣👌

I have almost everything available in the market in only these one fits perfect. Others are bit narrower than screen. But olixar glass protector reduced the touch sensitivity significally. It's quite hard to find screen protector for this phone.

Owner, 19 Mar 2021I live in UK and purchased a Xperia 5 II (XQ-AS52 from UK) ... moreI have the 72 model as well but after a couple of weeks of honeymoon usage I consistently get between 6 and 7 hours of SOT. Mix use of browsing, playing games, watching videos, receiving and sending messages and calls...
Having upgraded from my 4 years old XZ with about 2 hours of SOT, I would say the battery life here is phenomenal but I don't know what everyone else is getting.

Folks, can you please recommend which film protector or tempered glass should I buy for this device? I would buy it on German Amazon or eBay, or if you know any other store in Germany (Stuttgart) where it can be bought.
Thanks in advance.

After purchase phone(model XQ-AS72) have problem with internet connectivity using mobile network. Chat apps like skype/telegram/whatsapp can't connect to network. At the same time browser and google apps (maps, gmail) worked.
Latest update what phone get at Mar 14 (58.1.A.3.87) fixed this.
Just can't believe that company like Sony didn't test phone during development. And it took Sony six months to fix the problem.

I live in UK and purchased a Xperia 5 II (XQ-AS52 from UK) when it launched. The battery life of that device was excellent but but accidentally broke the display. Now I go another Xperia 5 II (XQ-AS72 from Hong Kong) but the battery life of this phone is not as good as last one. Then I checked battery (after two weeks of use) with accubattery said, 4010mAh (102% Battery health) but in "#*#7378423#*#* Service Menu said, 3903000uAh. One day later it showed, 3908000uAh. Yesterday I did factory reset, now accubattery shows, 3913mAh (98%) battery health and Service Menu shows, 3955000uAh. Strange!!! Should I be worried???
Note: After seeing this I called to service center backed in Hong Kong they said to send the device (at my own cost) to inspect if they will find any issue they will give me replacement and if the problem will not be found I need to pay whole shipping cost. Any advice...? Thanks in advance!

After one week of usage I can say I got what I expected from the phone. Generally I am satisfied. Great design, screen (120hz is really something nice to have), everything works fast and fluid. Camera is a bit of a challenge for me due to I need to get to know the Pro apps a little bit in order to get the maximum from the cameras. Front speakers also great and they make you enjoying multimedia.
Regarding some cons I noticed:
-AOD can't be scheduled to be turned on/off automatically unlike Dark mode
-volumes for ringing and notifications are merged as one, can't be set separately (or perhaps I oversaw something wrongly)
-the phone is generally slippery, so nowhere without a case
