Hmm funny.
Half people says great signal, half says extremely bad.

You who have signal problems - what color your device is? Is it dual sim? What country are you from?
Maybe we can figure out a pattern?

    You have returned it so I don't know why you seem to be so upset? My phone is a UK stock and I can confirm it does not have any issues. It's actually better than many brands in terms of picking up signals when other phones can't .

    I am happy with it! You should find a phone you be happy with instead of wasting your times with messages here when you already returned the phone!

My personal e... morenope. per sony people advice had it factory reset 2 (two) times, software reinstalled once, sent to sony service centre a first time and had the mobo replaced, sent second time and came back with a full technical check report showing it worked within specs. after all these, as long as you have 6 phones (xperia 5II, lumia 950, samsung a10e, huawei p30, huawei p40 and, funny, an old xperia L1 :) ) side by side, 2 sim's from 2 different providers moved all around, the only one failing to connect being xperia, please DO NOT tell me it was a faulty one. finally i sent it back to seller. anyhow, if you bother to check, the internet is full of complains regarding the poor network connectivity. both xperia 1II and xperia 5II. bulgaria, romania, serbia, canada, uk... xperia 1 / 5 simply cannot connect if the signal is not reaching a level that, otherwise, pose no problems to devices of different made.

              I had before Iphone Xs, also have weak signal on my work place.
              There the signal is very week, but on some spots there with xperia 10 ii i didn't have any issues, while with Xperia 5 ii i have struggle with internet surfing.
              Im in Bulgaria with A1 mobile operator.

Also WiFi is really good - for example I would get 4 bars WiFi in places where my friend with iPhone 11 struggling with one bar and disconnecting

                  Finger print work VERY well and fast on 10 ii and 5 ii.
                  I used side mounted finger print since Xperia XZ, also working good and fast.
                  People that, can't use it, lets don't type stupid comments.
                  First learn how to use it!
                  I watched one video in youtube, where one man can't unlock the phone, and i see clearly how he can't do it right!

                    Been using this beautiful phone for 4 weeks now - never been happier . Display, sound and oh god the amazing battery life . Happy those iPhone 7 days where I had to take my charger every where with me are gone.

                      I didn't like the signal of the phone. Most of the time 2 bars, max 3 of 4 in home. Xperia 10 ii is the same, but has more speed of the internet for me.
                      I tested 5 ii, 10 ii, and motorola G8 power with the same SIM card.
                      For a long time Xperia's can't find the best server to connect(30sec+ for xperias, motorola find immediately ), but the speed of the test is almost the same for the 3 devices.
                      Xperia 5 ii, clearly sometimes are very lagy in browsing, and slow loading in youtube...
                      Other one is the vibrating in the back panel, when stereo speakers working, in any type of sound making. The dynamic vibration is of, i thing is something in hardware inside of the phone...
                      At all the phone is very good. Display is nice, the battery stay for 2 day/8+hours on display, android has no lag, 120hz is very smooth, but i didn't use it for now. Proximity sensor works fine, sound is good.

                          Also regarding fingerprint sensor - due to its position are there situations when you need to try a few times to unlock the phone because some of the comments were it's not that precise, but now there were some updates so what is your personal opinion and experience?

                              Wanted this device since release. And 7 day ago finnaly swiched from old iPhone 6s plus. No regret. Everything smooth. And feels light and premium. Great battery Life. Great screen. Great stereo sound. Love finger print scanner on the side. Almost like touch ID on iPhone 6s plus its like physical thing feeling wich I love. There is no notch. No stupid holes. Clean symethrical design. Camera? Well in this department trying to learn to get good pictures. Because you can do it for your self whit photo pro. But in time it should be good. Only 1 donwsize selfie camera not the best. But I'm not selfie man so I'm cool whit this downside.

                                    Its not english, but I am at 76%, it says charged to 100% 32 hr ago, screen on time used 3:10 hr.
                                    I charged it the evening before yesterday, before I went to sleep, and its morning now. So that is with two 8 hr sleep sessions, and a whole day yesterday with about 3 hr of SOT usage.

                                        When last updated a month ago (regular 10 security update), my SoT went down to some 7-8 hr SoT for about 10 days.
                                        Right now... I am at just 84% battery, 14 hr since last harged to 100 (last evening), and 2:27 hr of SoT, mainly morning surfing, reading some forums and watching some yt videos.
                                        I use 60% screen brighness.

                                        So, people can do their own math from this.
