Mine device recently shows "Your device is corrupted". So I have bootloop and bricked phone. After 5 months after purchase. No more Sony.

BatteryCare is no joke, rather ingenious, prevents battery wearoff damage, and prolongs the batterylife significantly in longterm.

Anyways, one has an option to turn it off, so charging time drops to less than an hour. Or best leave it at auto, so chargetime is less than an hour if charged during the day, and longer but protective if charged overnight while asleep.

One of the main reason I stick with Sony is their batterycare tech. Only Sony, and later LG, cared to implement it.

why model 1 exists. Add wireless charging to this one and you've got a nice flagship.
charging should be improved. 2 hours for a full charge is a joke.

The cpu behaviour and idol's at less governors it did now on 11 it did on 10. You gained extra 3 hours off battery by compensating justify the speed Ram and torque power .
            I tried the 11, didn't like , rooted back to Android 10.

After A11 update, Im breaking personal records here folks...
Same usage pattern, a 2 days worth of battery on a single charge with over 13 hrs of screen on time (on A10, I got 2 days and over 10 hrs of SoT). Thats about 30% increase in batterylife for me.

So praise and kudos to Sony for this update, it seems to only have improved the phone for me.

So I guess, if there are indeed any problems with peoples A11 updates, it seems not be any Sony fault, rather some app or your internet provider bloat.

Hanif Fikri, 20 Feb 2021Hmm yours seems worst than mine. My Exynos N10+ drains 1.5-... moreI guess it's really an exynos problem and nothing we can do to improve battery endurance w/c is sad. I tried everything as well. Thanks man

Nothing we can do about it. I tried pretty much everything like removing unnecessary apps(via adb method), bloatwares, putting unused apps to deep sleep, etc but no improvemnt whatsoever on standby drain..

GoToSchool, 19 Feb 2021I updated to Android 11 and no complaints except android 11... moreI can confirm that. Updated yesterday to A11.
No troubles whatsoever. All working excellent.
Batterylife seems to be maybe even better for me now.

Only complaint I have is....I couldnt care less for A11 supposed added changes. Might as well have not updated to it.
Seems we have come to a point where Android updates lost meaning, and dont do a quack to enhance user experiences.

Hanif Fikri, 19 Feb 2021Bought note 10 plus and regret it. I should have go for thi... moreDo you have the Snapdragon or Exynos? I have a Note 10 exynos and battery drain is awful. My XZ3 drains 2 to 3% battery overnight (8hrs or more) while my note 10 is 3% every hour.

Sony is no longer available in my country so i opted for samsung. I'd like to try X5II to play with manual camera settings.

I updated to Android 11 and no complaints except android 11 messes up controller support for games not only on Xperia phones. No overheating, battery or performance slowdown for me. I'm also a light to moderate user occasionally playing games.

It's just been 24 hours so I'll update if I notice anything.

Bought note 10 plus and regret it. I should have go for this phone instead for better standby drain and much smoother UI. My old xperia x compact does better than my n10+.

For those worried about battery/performance after Android 11 go to Xperia forums on Reddit or XDA. Don't run benchmark soon after updates and expect to see same performance levels, apps go through an "optimization phase" before they run at their best. See this https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/lfz3s8/bench_scores_are_back_to_normal_android11/

I'm not saying there are no bugs or the OS is perfect but seems like there's lots of exaggeration about bad aspects of the A11 update.

One Youtube reviewer said this " most apps will recreate their caches the first day(depending on how many apps you have and start) they will run in background and eat CPU which makes the device a bit slower than usual and of course use more battery ..... " but after this battery should be back to normal

Network compatibility is not an issue since all versions of the Xperia 5 II have compatibility with my country's (UK) operators.

The real question would be: is there a significant difference between the XQ-AS52 and the XQ-AS72 models besides the internal storage? is there a reason for the one with more internal storage to be a lot cheaper than the other one? Will there be any significant problem if someone use different version in different region (except no 5G in US)?

I find the XQ-AS72 256GB (China, HK, TW model) to be cheaper ~+/-£569 on Internet Stores than the former XQ-AS52 128GB (European model) at £799 in UK.

MV, 14 Feb 2021Honestly I don't understand what they did with it. And... moreWhich model are you using XQ-AS52 or XQ-AS72? My XQ-AS52 was fine with Android 11 as like Android 10, even fixed some issues. But, my screen got damaged by dropped from the stairs. Now ordered new one but XQ-AS72. I'm so scared after seeing all negative comments about Android 11. My concern, is it related to the different models like XQ-AS52 or XQ-AS72, or are they both same regarding to the performance?

Hi Guys I see a lot of update related issues. I don't have this phone but i'm planning to get one. Just curious, does any of you clear the partition cache after the update? this should fix update related issues like battery drain and slow responsiveness.

Please let me know, i'm currently stuck with my exynos note 10 and battery is not it's best suite.

Security and other updates are crucial. Unless you want to get hacked or have malware on your phone etc. Why you buy new phone if you not bothered with any updates? Use Nokia 3310 instead...

My point is if I pay money for a thing it has to work as it should, with all updates, all functions. I don't need half baked product.

Android 11 sucks. In 8 hours overnight it lost 6%, while on Android 10, it lost 4%.
