This phone has serious issues that made me personally skip it:
1. Phone heats up while playing, when you exit the game is so hot that it cannot even handle 120hz in the OS, and it dorces 60hz for 3 minutes.
2. The audio from the speakers is bad, and at only 50% volume, the phone vibrates in your hands (dynamic sounds off).
3. Many apps and games are not played in fullscreen and you have black bars, this would not be a big deal, but the phone is already small I don't want smaller. Also volume buttons are too mushy.

The phone becomes untouchable or it w... moreI've hade the original xperia 5 and using google duo, zoom calls for more than 1 hour shined a spotlight on how terrible thermal management in this phone size from Sony is. Phone gets very hot, starts lagging, and battery drops massively in a short time.
Sony imo are making phones just because they have to. not for the user experience.

"It's a great phone, I've had mine for a month or so now and most reviews are pretty spot on.
I got mine from amazon for $800 after returning the wireless earbuds it came bundled with. I would have gone for the cheaper intl version, but I needed the US version of the handset so I could have access to all the available bands for 5G on tmobile in the US.
So far, so good. Even with the latest android 12 update. No major issues to report."

I loved this company for all the tech they made but...this phone 5 iii is such a shit .. paying 1k £ for the phone that is overheating only when using the messenger video calls?) Really? Overheating I mean I am afraid that it will melt inside. Is lagging when battery is low and the battery is s*it, I am using it daily and need to charge it 2-3 times a day ... That is not a phone for 1k... Very disappointed in this phone.
The fast charging is a joke, is fast but is overheating and when is overheating is lagging and 120hz screen is of and it transforms into android phone from 2005! DISAPPOINTED

The phone becomes untouchable or it w... moreevery flagship with 888 overheats. cuz the chipset was made by samsung, which they don't even know heat management. tsmc knows better than samsung. you can see the tests, 865 is made from tsmc and 888 is made from samsung.

Not sure how high it gets on camera usage but I believe the 888 processor is the one to blame here tbh. It even heats up without doing anything on some occasions which is concerning to me. I doubt the next generation of Xperia phones is going to be even better thermal wise because the 8Gen1 seems to suffer the same issue the 888 had unless Sony started to care more towards cooling. Well it's kinda unfortunate that Qualcomm ditched TSMC for Samsung which I assume made the 888 and 8Gen perform significantly worse in thermal management.

There’s a matte Black and a matte Silver version but unfortunately they’re only sold by a Japanese carrier.
