I think so. It uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of Samsung fab which is known for overheating similarly to 888. 8 plus Gen 1 or higher is not of samsung, and don't have overheating issue. There is some detailed review from geekerwan on youtube.

The temperature of summer time in Sweden is only 25 C by average. You may think it's not a big deal, but temperature in many other places reach higher than 30 C (or sometimes over 40 C), and it's a big deal.
