An overpriced Sony again. I had Sony phonearound 2013 and I took never Sony again.
The phone has good preferences though better if you buy a S22 ultra. It better in camera and performance.

And if software updates aren't a big deal, security updates are. With 3 years security updates, they are also not enough. By 3 years your phone will be at higher risk of getting hacked while other flagship phones still get 1 or 2 year of peace of mind...

I don't mind SX 5 IV design but that chin in bottom bothers.
I remember the time when I got my first smartphone back in 2011 which was SX Neo V.
I want other companies to use SX 5 VI as it's identical.

Glass protectors need to be glued with UV resin or else the scanner won't work. Compared to an optical under display scanner where it will work regardless or side/rear scanner. Hydrogel sucks and it wears too easily compared to glass. Other than that OneUI is good, battery life is meh and its missing a headphone jack, hence I carry another phone with one.

Having owned a Sony Xperia 5 III for 1 week, i went back to my Sony S10. Sony is garbage. That side fingerprint is horrible compared to thumbprint unlock and the Sony software is trash. I couldn't even transfer my existing Android apps and files across. I had to do it all manually.
No wonder nobody buys Sony any more! Its a hot mess and expensive!

This with only two years update can work better than any other with 4 years update.
I have XZ1 2017 model,it has the 9 pie the latest update and it is way faster than many 2022 samsung or other brand devices.
I can beat easy S10 plus with it and poco X3 pro so bye bye

Great.
Now we have a genuine competitor in the compact phone section.
Thank you Sony for not aping others and giving us an option at the very least.
(Would've liked it to have a gen 1+ though).

You can't be talking about how many stops there are, or are you ?
I haven't yet seen any documentation on mobile phone camera dynamic range measurements, apart from the default, poor, average, good, great...which isn't very accurate

They shouldve either returned the scamsung fabbed sd8 gen1 or sold it to other manufacturers then purchased tsmc sd8 gen1+ to put it on this phone.

Dynamic range is measured by raw file, not jpeg. Since info is lost in this format.
