Oh my... One more 8 Gen 1. I hope the next generation will be a worthy upgrade. I'm waiting for a compact phone with flat display and microSD support for months and still no buy for me.

A snapdragon 8 gen 1 + would have make this phone nearly perfect, dont get why they go for this gen 1. Maybe next time Sony, maybe ...

Good phone with great cameras. Just look at the size of sensor pixels. But 1000 euros is a bit too much for me. Also its great that they include MicroSD and 3.5mm. I wish other phones kept these features. Not gonna buy a new one without them

Lol. Sony phones are no longer sold in India. Thank god.

Thia model will be a flop. Samsung A52s 5G and S20 FE 5G models are far more better than the wasteperia 5 IV model.

Expensive but happy to see that they keep the 5 series. It's a niche market where I belong. Reasonable sized flagship phone with headphone jack :)

              Why not 8 Gen 1+??
For that alone I am no longer interested in this phone. Asus Zenfone 9 is way better

                Extremely Overpriced!

quite ugly as usual by Sony. Again with the bad naming, and this 10-year-old camera hardware. And all that for a premium price. No thanks.

No variable telephoto , no 8 plus gen , Big no to 5 mark IV . Pretty disappointed

This is going to run very hot

A friend of mine still has his Xperia Z2 functioning well despite already moving to an Xperia 10 Plus a couple of years ago.

I personally find the absence of the Xperia 1 Mk4's continuous variable zoom telephoto sensor a real bummer. But since the telephoto sensor can do 120fps, I'm okay with that trade off. Apart from the Xperia 1 Mk4, I don't think I ever see any smartphone with a telephoto camera that can record such a high frame rate.

The one thing Sony can't do right is pricing. They are insane.
