    Why is there no refresh rate management? Even the Motorola G100 which has no LTPO, still has an "auto" refresh rate mode which drops it to 60hz when no touch is detected for a second, and shoots upto 90hz when touched. How could Sony phones cost this much and not do this at least? Same goes for Zenfones, really expensive but effectively no refresh rate management. Better buy Poco F5. Yes, it's a pain that no microSD card like Sony but at least it's always 256gb and headphone jack is present.

              £849 premium phone with 3mm side bezel when other makers are pushing under 1.5mm, not to mention last year's same phone was 1mm narrower, you just got done dirty by corporate greed and you are here defending them.

              If you love fat bezels so much just go buy it instead of yelling at others online with all caps.

Does Sony think that ... moreSince when Sony thinks Xperia is popular product when they intentionally put the phone in the "still niche" if not fully niche like before, as Xperia 5 V is slightly more mainstream than 5 IV and 1 V? I mean since Xperia 1 and going forward, all Xperia are pretty much a niche product. And the main reason for high price? To earn feasible profit with less revenue as Xperia is pretty much a low volume production smartphone compared to the others in the market. If they gonna pull a Poco/Redmi price on 5 V like these people demanded here, it will just drag down them even further and worse as low production volume product and low price isn't feasible for them, and only work on certain bigger brands that have much higher production volume like Samsung, BBK, Transsion, or Xiaomi.

                        This is brilliant. I'm very happy to see Sony take on the average consumer with this one, fighting against the regular iPhone and Samsung S23/24.

                        It looks better than the Samsung and the iPhone, has a bind size and shape which is easier to hold and use. The cameras are excellent and the bokeh is better than either Samsung or iPhone.

                        Checkout the latest video on YT from Olle Nillesons channel. He's a pro photographer who took *incredible* photos and videos with this phone. Samsung and Apple can't touch it.

                        Let's hope they price it at €700/750 ($750/800) to compete directly with Asus, Samsung and Apple.

                        This phone is offers more than all the others if you list the specs plus the awesome cameras and awards winning design. Plus no bloatware and a nice clean Android experience.

                          So ONLY Android 14 and 15 updates? is this CONFRIMED?? Source please 🙏

                              But what if sony somehow managed to eliminate the side, bottom and top bezel without creating any punch hole or notch? For example, making multiple small camera that fits on the small bezel.

                              That would make the phone more compact and usable one handed. Because right now, what makes sony phone so tall is the 21:9 aspect rato screen + top and bottom bezel. What if sony phone have a 21:9 screen with no top and bottom bezel (a straight screen, without any notch or punch hole).

                              That would make a very perfect phone. I would instantly buy it no matter the price. Also, I use xperia 5 IV, an almost perfect phone except for the chip, bloat apps (but not as bloated as samsung) and occasional software bugs.

                                What does it mean? Not all models will support eSIM? How can I know which one supports or doesn't?

                                      The downside of Sony Mobile Phones, they have only Limited Android Upgrades 1 or 2 Series. But Very Good Quality phone.

                                        Sony is like someone who always asks people for big favors and finds a valid excuse for it.

                                        For a while, you will agree to help them because they do have a legitimate reason (e.g. poor health) and you feel bad for them, but over time you gradually won't tolerate it anymore.

                                        This is exactly what it is with Sony and their big prices (big favors).

                                        And I can't believe GSMarena's review didn't even list the price as one of the cons.
