same problem since xperia 1 and 5 mark III: OVERHEATING!! why do they release failed products? do they not have a QC department? and this one is so overpriced too..!!

    Still running the 2019 Sony Xperia 5
    Perfect for most cases except I cant install custom ROMs(docomo)
    Xperia prices drop very quickly compared to other phones but are too expensive at launch
    They need to reduce the price a bit

        It surpasses others in batterylife by a mile. Plus the excellent bokeh and cameras both back and front, free advanced editing app, excellent speakers, sd card and headphone jack.
        This is Sonys mainstream flag offering...
        Pricy, but quite tempting.

          You are not getting flagship, but UFS kicks however others try to diminish it.

          The biggest change this year is the retirement of the telephoto camera. The Xperia 5 V has a dual camera on the back with a 48MP main and a 12MP ultrawide cameras. The selfie camera is Sony's latest 12MP imager.

                  Only good upgrade from 5 III is GPS (L1+L5) if it's really there.
                  My 5 III get very hot when playing a game and sometimes even when taking photos or doing something that really should not make it hot.
                  My previous phone (Xperia XZ1 Compact) was perfect sizewise but I guess we will never get as small phone with good specifications anymore.
                  Also they broke the fingerprint reader logic in 5 III, it really should only read the finger when the display is one. Now the accidental touches (for example when putting the phone in pocket) will unlock the display. And the one hand mode was broken in Android update, earlier the screen was scaled down and it was usable, now they just hide part of the screen and it just doesn't work in usability wise.

                              5V is just another enthusiast compact walkman. 1T microSD card should hold a lot of Hires music files.
                              For this price point, I would say Sony is doing a great job of bundling their DSLR if the end users want to step forward to the photography area.

So I'm going to say I'm truthfully curious. What bloat apps does the 5 IV have? I wouldn't consider photo pro, video pro, or cinema pro to be bloat apps, or the external monitor app. I don't know of any other third party apps on the phone, and the apps from Sony are very well suited to who Sony phones are targeted towards. Also, I like that cinema pro and videography pro are separate. It seems simple enough, but having a definitive seperation between 21*9 content and 16*9 content can be and likely is highly appreciated by cinematographers and videographers alike. No more fiddling with aspect ratio settings, even though you shoot in the same aspect ratio all the time. Granted they could just have defaults, but I kinda like this solution better. Anyways I'm curious to know which bloat apps there are.

Metrics like refresh rate, colour accuracy, brightness, and response time don't matter whatsoever. You're absolutely correct.

                                        however, GSMarena did compared it with others phone with price tag shown.. xperia phone never cheap since they launch first generation of Xperia 1/5/10 series..
