With Quad Bayer filter the effective resolution is only marginal better than 12 MPx, and it's far from 48 MPx. So the effective resolution (sharpness) of a 2x crop is closer to 5 MP than to 12 MPx

128 for internal is low for a camera centric smartphone even you have sd card slot here but price is too high.
If you are in 3rd world you don't have fast internet to use cloud service when your sd card and internal is filled and you should buy external hdd, it could be pain in a..
Sony fans are similar to apple and samsung if they cut any thing they says they should do more.
Sony os update is just 2 that is low for a super high end smart phone even it's not comparable to rivals like apple and samsung.
They removed telephoto and it's fine for them, they should improve it not removing, this is not a solution.
If you are not a rich person or living in 3rd world you are not be able to buy every 2 year a new sony smart phone or buy from carriers like verizon because it's 3rd world and you don't have carriers like usa.
1000$ for 128gb device with 2 os update is too much.

I can't forgive the loss of a 3.5mm jack.. i came from the a52s and its a huge stepdown. Lower priced have headphone jack, but they lack other features like minimal an IP67 rating :P so that is also not an option.

Very expensive. Why so stingy give to customer more ram and more rom to the phone? It not worth the people money to buy it...well, it is sony...

I feel somewhat conflicted about the new dual-camera setup. While I am happy to see the 1 Mk5's primary camera made its way here, I think Sony can keep the 5 Mk4's native 2.5x zoom telephoto camera. I know the primary camera can do up to 3x lossless zoom, but keeping the telephoto camera for Portrait photography won't hurt.
Other than that, it's the familiar Xperia 5 as always. I'm even surprised this new phone is shorter than last year's predecessor while still maintaining the 5000mAh battery.
