I would prefer a 4.6 inch phone. 5 inch or larger phones do not fit in the pocket very well. There are too many 5 inch phones, but it is difficult to find a phone that is smaller than 5 inches. Any suggestions on where I could find a smaller android phone (less than 5 inches) that is not too expensive?

why dont sony work on some good battery phone..
better to have battery phone which will run atleast for 2 days without charging..
they r providing good Camera.. no doubt..
I am expecting this specification...
1. 13mp to 16 mp camera - Display - 5" to 5.5"
2. 2 gb ram + 16gb internal memory with min Quad-core 1.2 GHz cpu
3. Good batter atlease 3600mAh to 4100mAh - 2 days enough juice
and rest android is providing..
If Sony comes with above 2 options phone... I am sure they will be back in the market.. and price of both version will also matter they should keep around 12000/- to 20000/-

If Sony xperia e5 has 4.5 or 4.7 inch then it can be best and otherwise it is good

Again it posted earliar as 4.6inch and finally comes out to be another 5inch junk. This specs of phone i have already having 2 pieces 1 and a half years ago. And the price are not cheap, fail. Why don't sony just shift in the a mediatek processor into the z5 compact to replace the crappy expensive sd810 and sell it cheaper??

I Respectfully Disagree with your opinion, New Apple and Samsung phones are much more expensive that Sony Phones and yet may people still buys them

Sony phones are very expensive, that is the main reason of failure day by day. Sony is running out of the track. Another legend will be go away like the legend Nokia.

gab, 31 May 20165 inches? well, there goes our hopes for a decent sub-5 inc... moreYeah, i too was looking forward to a 4,6 inch back-up phone. Whats even more disappointing is that almost the entire x line-up is inferior to the previous one (features, specs but mostly price).
E5< M4 aqua. Same price.
XA< M5. (closer to m4 than m5). Same price.
XA ultra> c5 ultra.
X< Z5. (even m5 beats it in features). More expensive.
This new line-up is ridiculously overpriced. And now i have to look elsewhere for my commute phone (c5 ultra is too big to pocket in summer clothing).
