XJ, 27 Jan 2013just for clarification: (Why NO to U?) if you think dual c... morehey MØRØN, take your SAR and get the f out of here then and never touch a cellphone again. There is NO proof that SAR values even a hundred times higher will do any damage. Only in India has scientists found "proof" of brain cancer, but they failed to show us the victims, since there are none. Fake research ordered by authorities with an agenda.

just for clarification: (Why NO to U?)
if you think dual core processor is very important for you ok go for U
for me it had lots of reasons why I chose J. one of the most important options I check before I buy a new phone is SAR. that's why I don't like U. it's 2 times more dangerous for health than J.
and U doesn't upgrade to Jelly Bean! and...

The Sony Xperia J is actually a good phone with nice features, though there may be noticeable lag when too many apps are running on background. it's a cool phone with long battery life, sharp, bright and crisp screen, videos and images. It's as well fast. But if you think your budget can carry you for high-end phones, you may consider going for Xperia T (J's bigger brother- the Bond Phone), otherwise, go for the Xperia J!

Rhon, 27 Jan 2013Hey i'm plannin to buy sony j :-) is it a gud one compared ... moreThe 800 has much faster processor than J, but it cannot be upgraded to WP8, you will be stuck on the crappy WP7.8 and that will for sure NOT make you happy, plus that it is a dead end, WP is not like Android where you can run new games and apps on older phones, WP7.8 will be killed. Plus, Android is the better OS anyway.

Get Xperia U, thats what i always say. Its the best budget phone by far, regardless of brand and OS, get one while you still can, its not gonna be around for ever.

AnonD-87809, 27 Jan 2013guys...do you find anything annoying with the "J"... moreNO you cannot count on playing 720p videos.

As you say, single core, but that is not the problem here, the problem is that its a Cortex A5 CPU. The single core Scorpion CPUs in the 2011 Xperia models is much more powerful, those phones can even record 720p video, and playback smoothly (still, its somewhat depending on the Codec used, they have HW decoder for mp4 but other formats may stutter despite the Scorpion power).

Comparing a J and 2011 Xperia models will show you clearly just how low performance A5 has, but it works. Unless you think Xperia U is ugly (which it is not, its a beauty also) then forget about J.

AnonD-87809, 27 Jan 2013guys...do you find anything annoying with the "J"... moreYou might consider Xperia Go. You'll have a better performance (Dual-core Cortex-A9) and graphics, better camera resolution (720p), larger internal storage and the best part is, it is resistant to water and dust so you don't have to worry if you accidentally drop your phone into the water. Xperia Go is a good choice.

I bought the phone 2 weeks ago . . overall its a good phone at this price range, good quality display with good sound and powerful battery but while running multiple apps it sometimes crash due to its single core processor and only 512 mb ram. also the camera quality is not upto the mark bs I found my Nokia 5800 3 mp camera better than xperia j 5 mp . camera . . but when at this price range it easily beat Samsung galaxy s duos and htc desire V . in my opinion go for it its a nice phone with very attractive design!!!!!!!
